Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik (Save the Children) seeks Education and Protection Specialist

Save the Children is an international NGO and the world’s top independent charity for children in need. Since 1919, we have been fighting for children’s rights, saving their lives and providing hope for brighter futures worldwide.  Save the Children’s programs in Indonesia is implemented by Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik. We currently work in eleven provinces, have staff of approximately 300 local professionals, and programming in Child Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Humanitarian Response.  We are currently seeking to fill the following position:
Education and Protection Specialist 

1 position, based in Bandung, West Java
Code : E&P Specialist-IDEAL 

ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children implement a unique project to respond to learning and development needs of children with disabilities living in rural and slum areas. IKEA Foundation funds the IDEAL project which is promoting inclusion all children in Education System and provision of a protected environment in schools and communities. The project has a child centered approach which means bringing the child in the center and activating duty bearers encircling the child to ensure provision of right to education and protection of children with disabilities.
The project goal is to increase access to quality inclusive education for children with disabilities to attain their right to education and protection. This will be achieved through establishing and strengthening an integrated and inclusive school and community model in 7 districts/cities in West Java province.
Education and Protection Specialist provides technical leadership in inclusive education and child protection. S/He also develops program strategy to link school and community and collaborate with Government especially Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social and Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection. S/he also supports community to access Children with disabilities in the regular school. S/he will work together with Senior Project Officer to develop training materials, design capacity building strategy and provide technical assistant to ensure project officers and implementing partners able to deliver the services in quality. S/he works closely with MEAL officers to provide technical advice for relevance project study and research. Education and  Protection specialist reports directly to project Manager
