JOB DESCRIPTIONS BURUNG INDONESIA

Burung Indonesia merupakan organisasi konservasi nasional yang berupaya
melestarikan seluruh jenis burung Indonesia dan habitatnya dan bekerja
dengan masyarakat untuk mendorong pembangunan yang berkelanjutan. Burung
Indonesia tergabung dalam jaringan kemitraan global BirdLife International
yang terdiri dari organisasi-organisasi mandiri berbasis keanggotan di 125
negara dan teritori di seluruh dunia. Dalam kegiatannya, Burung Indonesia
menggalang dukungan masyarakat luas serta mengembangkan kapasitas organisasi
setempat dan bermitra dengan para pihak. 


Saat ini Burung Indonesia membutuhkan tenaga profesional yang kreatif,
dinamis dan enerjik untuk bergabung dalam melaksanakan program konservasi
sebagai Programme Manager for Hutan Harapan Initiative dan Programme Advisor
for Hutan Harapan Initiative. Kedua posisi berkedudukan di Bogor dengan
banyak melakukan perjalanan ke Jambi dan Sumatera Selatan.

tersebut:

1. 

Burung Indonesia Programme Manager for the Hutan Harapan Initiative

Burung Indonesia (BirdLife Indonesia Association) is the Indonesian partner
of BirdLife International - a global partnership of conservation
organizations that strives to conserve birds, their habitats through active
involvement of local communities, government institutions, the private
sector and other stakeholders. It was established in 2002 as an independent
Indonesian non-government organisation, after working for 10 years as the
program office of BirdLife International in Indonesia. 

Located in Jambi and South Sumatera, Hutan Harapan is a 98,500 ha ecosystem
restoration concession and it is the first project in Indonesia to be
implemented under an ecosystem restoration licence. In expectation of
further donor funding, Burung Indonesia is advertising for a Programme
Manager for the Hutan Harapan Initiative. 

Summary

The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the overall programme
planning, implementation, monitoring of progress and coordinating with key
stakeholders. In particular, the candidate is expected to ensure that the
programme's objectives/outputs are achieved to a high standard of quality
according to the log frame and budget, within the contracted project period
and in compliance with national laws, donor regulations and Burung
Indonesia's policies and procedures.

Tasks: 

- Manage project budget;

- Plan and schedule project timelines;

- Provide direction and support to the Burung Indonesia Hutan
Harapan programme team; 

- Facilitate the definition of the programme scope, goals and
deliverables 

- Track project deliverables using appropriate tools;

- Liaise with ESP3 and the Royal Danish Embassy, as well as other
Hutan Harapan donors; 

- Coordinate the development of quarterly, mid-term and annual
reports;

- Develop Terms of References (TORs) for technical support to be
provided by Burung Indonesia, identify and select the consultants, and
monitor and review their assignments; 

- Coordinate and support project evaluations; 

- Hold regular meetings with the Director of Operations of PT REKI
to monitor project progress, identify problems and solutions; 

- In coordination with the Secretary of Yayasan KEHI, prepare
regular updates and prepare and coordinate two annual meetings for the
Yayasan KEHI's Board of Patron's. 

Skills and Qualifications: 

1. Indonesian National;

2. University degree (minimum BSc or S1) in Forestry, Natural Resources,
Agriculture or closely related field;

3. At least 5 years' experience working in conservation NGOs;

4. Experience in managing and supervising a team to reach the project
objectives;

5. Experience in program design and work plan development;

6. Good understanding of governmental structures and processes at
national, provincial and district levels;

7. Experience in building partnerships with government and other civil
society organizations;

8. Fluent in English (spoken and written).

The candidate will advise and support the Burung Indonesia Hutan Harapan
programme team in the development of the Hutan Harapan initiative. This
includes working with the team on project cycle management to insure
objectives are met, advising on the need for technical inputs and coaching
and mentoring when needed. 

Tasks 

- In coordination with the Programme Manager plan and schedule
project timelines; 

- Provides support to the Burung Indonesia Hutan Harapan project
team;

- Work in coordination with the Programme Manager to Track project
deliverables using appropriate tools; 

- In coordination with Burung Indonesia's Programme Manager assist
with the development and writing of quarterly, mid-term and annual reports;

- Assist with developing Terms of References (TORs) for technical
support to be provided by Burung Indonesia to identify and select the
consultants, and monitor and review their assignments;

- Coordinate and support project evaluations; 

- In coordination with the Secretary of Yayasan KEHI, prepare
regular updates and prepare and coordinate two annual meetings for the
Yayasan KEHI's Board of Patron's;

- Conducts assessments and site visits to monitor program
development;

- Coordinate project development for Hutan Harapan. 

Skills and Qualifications: 

1. Position is open to National or International candidates;

2. University degree (minimum BSc or S1) in Forestry, Natural Resources,
Agriculture or closely related field;

3. At least 5 years' experience in working in conservation NGOs in
Indonesia;

4. Professional leadership skills and the capacity to coach and advise
senior and junior staff;

5. Experience in capacity building in a NGO setting;

6. Experience in programme planning tools;

7. Good understanding of governmental structures and processes at
national, provincial and district levels;

8. Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia;

9. Excellent English writing skills.

These positions are located in Burung Indonesia's head office in Bogor but
the candidate will be expected to travel regularly to the project site in
