Background:
Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR), with headquarters in Amsterdam, is a professional organisation operational in the field of leprosy and disability in 16 leprosy endemic countries. Each year, around 219,000 people globally are diagnosed with leprosy. Indonesia ranks number 3, with relatively high disability rates. NLR has been supporting projects in Indonesia since 1967. The main partner of NLR Indonesia is the Ministry of Health (MoH). Activities are coordinated with MoH and are aligned to MoH requirements and priorities. At provincial level, the provincial health services are important partners.
Next to supporting leprosy control, NLR Indonesia’s inclusion and disability program aims to support and advance holistic, community-based rehabilitation and sustainable inclusive development for persons with disabilities, including children with disabilities and people affected by leprosy.
Prevention of disability, home-based (self-) care and access to referral for children with disabilities and persons affected by leprosy is one important part of our work. Promoting Disability Inclusive Development – DID, Community Based Rehabilitation - CBR, mainstreaming of disability and inclusion of persons affected by leprosy into general disability and development programs is another focus.
NLR also works with a number of local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Disabled Persons Organisations (DPOs) and with other important stakeholders such as Universities and Hospitals. In 2017, we will aim at expanding our disability work to include special focus for children with disabilities.
Emergent the programmatic need drive NLR aims to have balanced sources of income comprising of funds from local sources, since by the year 2017 NLR will go national so that the possibility to raise fund nationally is possible. The fund raising effort also will go to other global donors, and any possible resource mobilization. To further increase successful institutional fundraising the NLR is looking for a competent, dynamic and self-driven fundraiser, starting as soon as possible.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop the fundraising strategy for NLR Indonesia in coordination with the head of program.
• Build together with head of program and others a network and collaborate with funding institutions, NGOs, corporate sector, including foundations, with funding perspective, nationally and possible internationally.
• Together with the head of program and NLR office in Amsterdam, identify and map potential donors nationally and internationally and conduct research on the prospective donors (through internet, newspapers, magazines, networking etc.) and establish an Action plan based upon access, interest and means.
• Lead the development of quality concept notes, tailored funding proposals, liaising with the program and finance department to develop detailed project proposals and budgets, for submission to donors.
• Coordinate the development of the proposals, including budgets and monitoring & evaluation and communication plans
• Participate in donor meetings and ensure NLR’s visibility among the donor community
• Ensure that project-based donor reports are of high quality and fulfil donor requirements and are submitted timely.
• Review grant agreements, including initial review to ensure donor compliance and ensure contracts are donor-compliant and can be met
• In coordination with the country director and the head of program become Focal point for donors and ensure timely request for adjustments to donor contracts when necessary.
• Ensure contact database is updated and shared with the relevant staff.
• Proactively initiate donor visits to engage and maintain donor relations

Requirements:
• University degree
• Five years of fundraising experience in a NGO environment
• Effective proposal writing skills.
• Good donor network and in particular in Indonesia.
• Verifiable and successful institutional fundraising, grant management, and donor liaison/reporting track record.
• Ability to work independently and able to meet the deadlines.
• Excellent communication, networking and liaison skills
• Well organized, communicative and excellent interpersonal working attitude
• Keen to take initiative and collaborate in a team
• Fluent in English
