Tetra Tech ARD is currently accepting expressions of interest for
STTA Ecotourism Specialist, Jakarta based, on our USAID LESTARI
project. USAID’s LESTARI project supports the Government of Indonesia to
reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and conserve biodiversity in
carbon rich and biologically significant forest
and mangrove ecosystems.
Job
Summary: the objective of LESTARI ecotourism activities is to facilitate
the development of ecotourism as a sustainable alternative livelihood
opportunity for targeted communities adjacent to important conservation
areas in the LESTARI Landscapes as well as facilitate ecotourism
development with local government. The consultant will act as the focal
point to address all ecotourism related technical matters of the LESTARI
Project and is the key to oversee the quality
of technical report/paper for LESTARI ecotourism initiatives.
Requirements
include minimum bachelor or master degree in tourism, development and
planning, resource conservation, or a related field; at least 5 years of
demonstrated and successful program management experience;
experience with multi-lateral donor projects preferably familiar with
USAID procedures and regulations; professional fluency in English and
Indonesian; excellent written and oral communication skills;
demonstrated experience in multi-stakeholder participatory
planning; availability to travel at short notice for extensive field
work; demonstrated community engagement experience, preferably related
to development; demonstrated experience in undertaking stakeholder
surveys, leading workshops, and capacity building
training; experience in ecotourism development, the tourism industry
and local government is preferred; experience in private sector business
and marketing will be an added advantage; knowledge of the Landscapes
ecotourism key stakeholders; experience working
to preserve ecosystems or human cultures is a strong plus; able to work
independently but also a strong team player and excellent communicator.
