Introduction
The national Peatland
Restoration Agency (Badan Restorasi
Gambut or BRG) was formed early
2016 by the President in response to the massive forest and peat fires
of 2015 which affected approximately 850,000 ha of peatland. Component 3 of the Berbak Green Prosperity Partnership
(BGPP) aims at institutional strengthening of BRG.
Component 3 of the BGPP has a job opening
for two short-term Senior Civil
Engineers to provide short-term technical support with main tasks as below.
The Berbak GPP is funded by Millennium Change
Account Indonesia (MCA-Indonesia).
Background of the assignment
BRG
will develop peatland rewetting infrastructure, revegetation and revitalisation
of local livelihoods in seven provinces. In order to expedite these activities two systems
will be put in place through bidding system and working directly with
communities.
Implementation
of the works is separately tendered by MCA-Indonesia and will be implemented by
third parties. On request of BRG, BGPP Component 3 will support BRG in the
preparatory activities of the three biggest components (rewetting, revegetation
and revitalisation) by the provision of two technical support staff with Civil
Engineering qualifications as detailed below.
The selected candidates will be expected to start
working with BGPP early June 2017, and the assignment is expected to be
completed during three months. Details

Reference for rewetting infrastructure development in 6 provinces (Jambi,
South Sumatera, Riau, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan)

To develop engineering
detailed design and specifications of canal blockings and deep wells
·
To estimate the Bill of
Quantities for both canal blockings and deep wells
·
To develop owner’s estimate
for canal blocking and development

·
Minimum Bachelor’s,
preferably Master’s Degree, in Civil Engineering
·
Minimum 5 years working
experience in construction supervision and design in wetlands
·
Able to work under high
pressure and in good collaboration with colleagues
·
Good reporting and
communication skills
·
Versatile to work with
Microsoft Office and Autocad, and other relevant software
