Working closely together with the Medical Activity Manager in the project based in Banten Province, district of Pandeglang, sub-district Labuan and Carita.
Location:

Background:
MSF is Médecins Sans Frontières /Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an international independent humanitarian medical organization which aims to deliver emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare, offering assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation and whose actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of neutrality and impartiality as stated out in the MSF Charter.
 
Médecins Sans Frontières are now seeking for its Banten Project a highly qualified candidate to fill in the position of:  Community Health Promotion/Education Officer - Labuan Based
 
Main Responsibility
    • Implement Health Promotion/IEC activities with adolescents in health facility, schools, community and the local population to raise their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics related to adolescent health.
    • Identify and/or encourage community (youth) groups that can assist in the IEC programs.
    • Identify and analyzed community health gaps and health seeking behavior.
    • Ensuring that MSF youth corner give proper IEC materials to the adolescent.
    • Ensuring timely referral to the health facility for health needs.

       



Tasks and responsibilities
    • Inform patients and communities about MSF and services it provides.
    •  Deliver information to the patients and community on adolescent health topics.
    •  Implement IEC activities on health and awareness (sessions in schools, health centers, community and youth corner) under the indications and supervision of the MAM.
    •  Under the guide of the MAM, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications and behaviors observations), and report problems, success and constraints to him/her.
    •  Collect all type of information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, in particular to identify the most vulnerable populations to target.
    • Report to MAM: activities, problems mets, strengths and constraints.
    • Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, village leaders, including local community groups that can provide answers to social problems.
    • Actively participate in creation of any new and innovative material needed for the activities of information, education and communication.

       

       
 
Requirements
 
 
Education
Education level in public health, social science, social communication, or teaching
Experience
Desirable experience in Community Mobilization and/or Community Field Work
Desirable two years previous experience in community work in the field and/or in a humanitarian agencies or other NGOs

Languages             
Knowledge of other local language is desirable (aside from Bahasa Indonesia) and Basic Proficiency in English is a must
