GIZ Indonesia for The Support to Indonesia's Climate Change Response - Technical Assistance Component (SICCR-TAC) Project: Junior Professional – Dynamic Agroforestry (Duty Location: Aceh)

The GIZ is implementing the EU-funded Climate Change project: Support to Indonesia's Climate Change Response (Technical Assistance Component) SICCR-TAC. The 3 year project aims to pilot tangible measurements (low carbon, resource efficiency, sustainable management of the use of Biodiversity and livelihoods and optimized development planning and build the capacity of Aceh to support and contribute in an effective and coherent way to Indonesia’s efforts to set itself upon a low-carbon development path through low-emission economic development and optimal land use planning within the LULUCF (Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry) Sector.  
 

SICCR-TAC is seeking one qualified Indonesian candidate for the following position:

 Junior Professional – Dynamic Agroforestry


The Job Holder performs the following tasks, but is not limited to:
  • Support Climate Relevant Agroforestry Production System Specialist on delivery of outputs in SICCR-TAC Result 3 based on Annual Work Plan
  • Assist preparation of Dynamic Agroforestry (DAF) trainings with DAF experts
  • Liaise with FMU coordinators on conduct of DAF in FMU I, II, III and TAHURA
  • Assist to arrange follow up of DAF training in respective FMUs
  • Prepare activities with BAPPEDA, universities, or relevant government agencies to extend and mainstream results of DAF and other outputs in Result 3
  • Conduct other activities as agreed with Climate Relevant Agroforestry Production System Specialist and/or other SICCR-TAC experts
  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management

Required qualifications, competences and experience
  • Minimum University degree in one of the following fields: agriculture, natural resources management, forestry or any other related areas;
  • A good understanding of concepts on conservation, forest protection, and agroforestry and livelihood development around protected forest;
  • A good understanding of environment and forest management regulations as well as spatial planning.  
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in Bahasa Aceh, Bahasa Indonesia;
  • Very good knowledge English and communication skills;
  • Understanding of on Aceh´special autonomy status, social context and customs and technical neutrality and a first-hand experience on working with local government structures;
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and under a time pressure;
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office);
  • Willingness to acquire new knowledge as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management;
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote areas in Aceh with the communities, project partners and beneficiaries.
