* Periodic input for six month (with possible contract extension for another six month)

* Based in Jakarta, with activities carried throughout Indonesia

The Program

Australia Awards Indonesia (AAI) is managed by Coffey on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Australia Awards is an integral part of Australia's development cooperation program with Indonesia and has enjoyed strong support from both governments for more than sixty years. Australia Awards addresses two key challenges: to fill a gap in the pool of individuals with the higher-level capacity to contribute to Indonesia's development; and the need for a strong deep relationship based on mutual understanding between Australia and Indonesia.

The Position

The MEL Assistant is a part time position responsible for supporting the implementation of AAI MEL plan, particularly in managing the monitoring and evaluation system for Alumni Grant Scheme (AGS). He or she will report directly to the MEL Manager and work closely with AGS Manager and coordinator. The MEL Assistant will be mainly responsible to provide technical supports to the AGS team in implementing the monitoring and evaluation plan for AGS. This includes providing technical assistance to AGS grantees in developing their projects monitoring plans, undertake monitoring of the grants, conduct review and analysis of the project results and manage the data from the AGS projects for AAI reporting and management purposes.

The Person
The MEL Assistant must have at least a two year proven working experience in development projects, preferably familiar with monitoring and evaluation concepts such as logic model, program logic or results chain and data collection methods that conform with good research practice.

H/she must have at least bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields, Education, Psychology or Science, with a research component.
H/she must be detailed oriented, flexible and effective at time management. H/she should also demonstrate strong inter-personal and effective process skills. Knowledge in Microsoft office is essential. Knowledge in project data management and data analysis software such as SPSS, Nvivo, and other application is beneficial.
