Nutrition
International (previously Micronutrient Initiative, MI) is an
international Non-Government Organization (NGO) dedicated to ensuring
that the world’s most vulnerable – especially women and children in
developing countries – get the vitamins and minerals they need to
survive and thrive. With headquarters in Ottawa, Canada MI maintains
regional offices in New Delhi, India and Nairobi, Kenya that manage our
country offices in Asia and Africa.

Indonesia has been supporting the government in implementing an
intervention on the Weekly Iron and Folic Acid Supplementation for
school-going adolescent girls to reduce the prevalence of anemia among
them in two pilot districts, Cimahi and Purwakarta Districts, West Java
province. In addition to continuing Weekly Iron Folic Acid
Supplementation (WIFAS) program for adolescent girls in the two
demonstration districts, NI is scaling up the WIFAS program among
school-going adolescent girls to two provinces, i.e. West Java and
Banten.
To
prepare for this scale up, an advocacy meeting is planned to be
conducted separately in the two provinces for sharing the learning
lessons from two demonstration districts and improve coverage in other
districts.
The activity will be conducted between January-February 2018.
