Responsibilities and Scope
 
  • Lead the outreach with external stakeholders for the Respect’ Programme to expand work streams, build new partnerships and maintain existing collaborations
  • Lead internal capacity building for TFT staff to strengthen TFT’s role in transforming labour practices in supply chains. This could include training staff on key labour issues, improving assessment methodologies, understanding impact, writing high quality reports and developing action plans
  • Lead the development of high quality and comprehensive set of labour rights resources such as guidelines, research and other materials for TFT members as well as TFT staff
 
 
  • Act as a technical resource on labour in the field during assessments and evaluations. This will also include being a main point of contact and communication with sites on labour issues in the supply chain
  • Act as a technical resource on labour for internal collaborations with other TFT teams to further the efforts of mainstreaming labour rights work across all projects at TFT Indonesia
  • Support the ‘Respect Programme Manager in successfully coordinating the work of the project with all TFT teams in Indonesia, as well as in other TFT offices globally
  • Support the ‘Respect Programme Manager as a focal point for communications on the strategy and approach of TFT’s Respect Programme. This can include being in regular contact with TFT global advisors and external partner organisations;
  • Support the ‘Respect Programme Manager in the global process of development of strategies and work plans for advancing labour rights work for different clients and members
  • Support the ‘Respect Programme Manager in carrying out all other project-related tasks as required.
 
 
Requirements Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications
 
  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Social Sciences, preferably law or human rights
  • If Bachelor’s Degree holder then 7-10 years of work experience; if Master’s Degree holder then 5-7 years of experience on social sustainability issues in Indonesia, labour rights, human rights or sustainable supply chains
  • Strong experience in field work
  • Strong experience in developing research methodologies and leading field and desk research projects
  • Experience in project management, coordination, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in engaging with a variety of stakeholders from the private sector, government, as well as social sector
  • Experience in capacity building projects or as a trainer will be an advantage
  • Experience working in or with the private sector or development consulting will be an advantage.
 
 
Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to meet high demands concerning conceptual-creative thinking
  • Proactive with a capacity to initiate work and manage deliverables independently;
  • Ability to take over advisory functions with minimal supervision, dealing with a wide range of partners at senior and middle levels
  • Ability to focus on several competing deadlines without compromising quality of work
  • Ability to work well in teams and to guide and work closely with junior team members to complete assignments
  • Willingness to learn;
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly nature;
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English;
  • Ability to adapt to fast paced work and a challenging environment
