Vacancy at Wahid Foundation

Wahid Foundation was established to advance the humanitarian vision of KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) in advancing the development of tolerant, multicultural,society in Indonesia, improving the welfare of the poor, building democracy and fundamental justice, and expanding the values of peace and non-violence in Indonesia and throughout the world.

We are currently looking for professional candidates to fill in several positions:
1.  Community Development Manager ( 1 month contract)
     Job Responsibility :
              1.       Supporting Team Leader on developing, implementing and evaluating work plan.
2.       Facilitate diverse activities in spreading Peaceful Islam and Diversity among the local community.
3.       Work alongside members of communities, inspiring them, supporting them, and offering them guidance and opportunities for initiating social change and making improvements to their own community..
4.       Build relationships with government organizations, community groups and local businesses that are willing to invest time and money into their local communities
5.       Promoting community schemes to the public and generally getting people involved
6.       Manage the program team on implementing work plan.
7.       Assists with collation and preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and six-monthly reports and other reports as requested.
8.       Actively promotes core project values including; EEO, gender equity, social inclusion, anti-discrimination, anti-harassment and will not tolerate discrimination within any related project activities on the basis of gender, age, religion, sexual preference, marital status, health, ethnicity or political affiliation.
               9. Undertake any other tasks as may be reasonably required.  
     Qualifications :
1.       Education & Knowledge:
·         Minimum hold a bachelor degree in any major
·         Will be highly an advantage if the candidate is familiar with CVE issue

2.       Experience:
·         Have a proven work experience in the same position for 8 years
·         Have a work experience working in a project funded by UN/ DFAT

3.       Language:
·         Excellent in Indonesian & English language (written and spoken)

4.       Personal Skills & Ability
·         Good managerial, analytical, negotiation, communication and advocacy skills.
·         Highly effective organization and work management skills and demonstrated capacity to work in a team environment
·         Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility and drive for result
·         Has a sound analytical ability and good judgment
·         Skills in problem identification and resolution
·         Management and leadership skills including coaching and mentoring
·         Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)
·         Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated track record in working effectively with colleagues from varied cultures and professional background in order to achieve desired goals
·         Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills. Excellent writing skills and demonstrated ability to develop written report and action plans. 
2.  Media and Campaign Manager (initial contract for 6 months with possibility of extention)
      Job Responsibility :    
1.          Supporting Team Leader on developing, implementing and evaluating work plan.
2.            Facilitate moderate and future leaders in producing Peaceful Islam and Diversity narratives in relevant mainstream media.
3.            Facilitate diverse activities in spreading Peaceful Islam and Diversity among families, religious teachers, informal religious learning groups, managers of student religious clubs (Rohis) and the local community.
4.            Facilitate the working networks of media for Peaceful Islam and Diversity to enrich Peaceful Islam and Diversity narratives across cultures and countries.
5.            In-depth and periodic research to develop strategies in policy and in the promotion of the narratives and movements of Peaceful Islam and Diversity
6.            Developing a database center and Clearing House to promote the narrative and the movement of Peaceful Islam and Diversity.
7.            Establish and coordinate centers to spread the narratives of Peaceful Islam and Diversity..
8..            Facilitate and encourage integration by providing support for a Peaceful Islam and Diversity through former prisoners in Indonesian prisons.
9.            Intensify the involvement of the private sectors, mainstream media, and philanthropic organizations in promoting Peaceful Islam and Diversity.
10.          Contributes to development of training material and case studies for training course.
11.          Working closely with all advisors on achieving the program’s outcomes.
12.          Establish an effective partnership with all stakeholders including GOI, Donor and NGOs.
13.          Manage the Media & Campaign team on implementing work plan.
14.          Assists with collation and preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and six-monthly reports and other reports as requested.

Qualifications: 
1.       Education & Knowledge:
·         Minimum Bachelor degree in a social science, A Master’s degree is a valuable asset.
·         Knowledge of governmental and non-governmental preventing extremism (PVE) efforts in Indonesia and abroad.
·         Knowledge in Women groups issue, micro-enterprises and human rights
·         Understanding of Peaceful Islam and Diversity ideas.

2.       Experience:
·         Minimum of eight (8) years of working experience in related to media campaign (conventional and social media).
·         Experienced in developing database.
·         Experienced in developing work plan and preparing report.
·         Experienced working in development context preferably similar issues.

3.       Languages:
·         Mastery in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

4.       Personal Skills & Abilities:
·         Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated track record in working effectively with colleagues from varied cultures and professional background in order to achieve desired goals
·         Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
·         Excellent writing skills and demonstrated ability to develop written report and action plans.
·         Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and perform high level supervisory duties in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
    • Good managerial, analytical, negotiation, communication and advocacy skills.
·         Highly effective organization and work management skills and demonstrated capacity to work in a team environment

·         Has a sound analytical ability and good judgment

    • Ability to handle pressure and meet deliverable deadlines.
    • Familiar in liase with government officer, grass root society, women, pesantren and other related parties.


3. Media and Campaign Officer (1 month contract)
     Job description :
     1.       Drives and oversees the development of an innovative online and offline campaign and communication branding strategies
     2.       Managing media production by writes text, designs, and researches and collects images for publication on websites or organization official social media.
     3.       Ensure that the content is accurate, up dated and is arranged correctly.
     4.       Ensure that links to other pages/ information function properly.
     5.       Managing media distribution through websites, organization official social media, newspaper and tv
      6.       Monitoring news related to organization or project
      7.       Maintain partnership with journalists and media syndication
      8.       Ad hoc projects that is given by Wahid Foundation to support its activity
      9.       Administrative support, such as reporting
      10. Support Media & Campaign Senior Officer to achieve relevant program target
Qualifications :
1.       Education & Knowledge:
·         Minimum hold a bachelor degree in any major
·         Will be highly an advantage if the candidate is familiar with PVE issue

2.       Experience:
·         Have a proven work experience as a media officer or strategic branding communication officer
·         Have a work experience working in a project funded by media/ branding communication institution

3.       Languages:
·         Mastery in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

4.       Personal Skills & Abilities:
·         Excellent writing and communication skills for creating lively and readable text
·         Highly sensitive in capturing PVE issue and Economic Women Enterprises to reach media branding outcomes.
·         A high degree of creativity in creating a stories of information.
·         Good knowledge of computers and social media
·         Strong organizational skills to manage a schedule, An eye for detail to ensure that text is accurate and free from grammatical and spelling errors.

    Job description :
     Working closely with all advisors on achieving the program’s outcomes.
      Establish an effective partnership with all stakeholders including GOI, Donor and NGOs.
      Assists with collation and preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and six-monthly reports and other reports as requested.
       Actively promotes core project values including; EEO, gender equity, social inclusion, anti-discrimination, anti-harassment and will not tolerate discrimination within any related project activities on the basis of gender, age, religion, sexual preference, marital status, health, ethnicity or political affiliation.
        Undertake any other tasks as may be reasonably required. Diversity.
      Qualifications :
1.                 Education & Knowledge:
Minimum Bachelor degree in a social science other relevant studies.
Knowledge of governmental and non-governmental countering extremism (CVE) efforts in Indonesia and abroad.
Understanding of Peaceful Islam and Diversity ideas.
 2.       Experience:
·  Have 2 years of work experience in the same position will be advantage but we also encourage fresh graduate with relevant study background to apply.
·  Experienced in facilitating training.
·  Experienced in working with DFAT project or other donor project.
·  Experienced in developing work plan and preparing report.
·  Experienced working in development context preferably similar issues.
 3.            Languages:
   Mastery in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
 4.            Personal Skills & Abilities:
   Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated track record in working effectively with colleagues from varied cultures and professional background in order to achieve desired goals
   Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
