Our current work primarily focuses on forest and land-use. Over time WRI Indonesia aims to expand its portfolio to include climate, energy, and city and transportation. Therefore, it is important for the organization to identify and put in place the research building blocks for achieving the vision of WRI Indonesia supporting science- and data-driven decision making at national and sub-national level.

Overview 
The Monitoring, reporting and data management officer  will support WRI Indonesia to implement the comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework though capturing and reporting  the progress, collecting and maintaining supporting document including to ensure the data are updated and stored effectively. She/he will work closely with M&E Manager to monitor a 5-year grant focusing on reforming the forest and land use sector in Indonesia. The grant, titled “Accelerating Low Emissions Development in Indonesia through Sustainable Land-use Management and Improved Forest Governance”.

Responsibilities
The Monitoring, reporting and data management consultant main responsibility will include the following:

Monitoring, Reporting and Data Management (80%)
  • Provide assistance to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager in operationalize a monitoring and evaluation system for the grant;
  • Provide support in reporting the progress update in a regular basis;
  • Collect the data for results indicators used by project teams;
  • Verify and document progress towards deliverables, milestones and result through M&E system;
  • Work closely with technical staff and field staff to collect the data of project implementation and ensure maintenance of accuracy, relevance, integrity, timeliness of data collected to verify the project progress and achievement;
  • Responsible in managing data including project documentation, knowledge product and another product produced by the project;
  • Contribute to the outcome and impact evaluations for the program and support the baseline, midline and end-line data collection.
General Support (20%)
  • Contributing to cross-programs monitoring and evaluation support for the WRI Indonesia office;
  • Coordination with other WRI staff in maintaining WRI Indonesia data storage system.
Key Deliverables
  1. Collecting data from project implementer for verifying indicators
  2. Managing project documentation, knowledge product and another product produced by the project
  3. Produce a consolidate report for the progress update in a monthly basis (3 reports)

 Required Qualifications
  • Legally able to work in Indonesia
  • Bachelor degree in a related field (environment, social science, or development study).
  • Minimum three years of full-time work experience in a monitoring and evaluation field.
  • Direct hands-on experience in conducting assessment, research, data collection and data management.
  • Detail-oriented and organized thinker who can juggle multiple, competing priorities.
  • Familiar in using an online platform for data collection and data management.
  • Experience in consolidating data, analyzing and produce a report.
  • Professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Experience in working with local communities and local government
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel when needed.
  • Experience working in one or more related field: forest conservation, landscape restoration, local and indigenous land rights, conflict resolution, environmental policy, sustainable livelihoods, rural development
