Position Summary
CPI is currently working on a project
to help accelerate clean energy investments in Indonesia, particularly renewable
energy and energy efficiency projects. Under the project, CPI partners with a
local state-owned financial institution (“Partner”) to develop a pipeline of
clean energy projects. In particular, CPI provides technical assistance to Partner
in regards to the preparation, evaluation and financing of clean energy
projects in Indonesia (“Project”).
An exciting opportunity exists for a
Consultant to join CPI’s Climate Finance team working on the Project. Based in
Jakarta, Indonesia, the Consultant will work on a Part-time basis at CPI and be part of the team supporting our Partner
in evaluating investment opportunities and in developing capacity building
activities for our Partner. The Consultant will be contracted for an 8 (eight) months
period with opportunity for extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with CPI’s Partner and CPI’s team in carrying out the Project;Provide inputs in the development of Project planning and methodologies;
- Perform financial analysis and financial modelling to help our Partner make investment decisions;
- Take part in meetings with prospective client, performing due diligence, site visits, and structuring investment transaction;
- Perform market research relevant to project preparation;
- Assist Partner in producing relevant project documentation (i.e. information memorandum);
- Produce high-quality materials on short deadlines; and
- Contribute in carrying out other analytical works relevant to the Project (i.e. performing case studies).
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
- Possess excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in reading financial statements and evaluating investment opportunities.
- Expert level Excel (financial modelling) and PowerPoint skills.
- Have significant experience (6+ years) in performing financial/business due diligence and investment analysis while working in financial institutions and/or advisory firms (i.e. investment bank, development financial institution, corporate finance advisory firm, credit rating agency or management consulting company).
- Having previous exposure in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
- Having previous experience working in Development Financial Institution is a plus.
- Ability to communicate methods, results and recommendations from complex qualitative and quantitative analysis to expert and non-technical audiences.
- An insightful, independent, analytical mind with a strong track record of applying strategic judgment in complex situations.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Professionalism, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and ability to interact with a diverse group of people.
Compensation and Benefits
The
position is available for immediate appointment. The position will be based in
Jakarta, Indonesia. CPI offers excellent compensation that is commensurate with
experience.
