1. Background
DAI,
an international consulting firm based in the United States, is
currently accepting applications from candidates for a Climate and
Weather Information Specialist position in Jakarta to support the U.S.
Agency for International Development (USAID) Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim
dan Ketangguhan Project in Indonesia (APIK). APIK will support the
Government of Indonesia to strengthen climate and disaster resilience,
working in an integrated manner from the national level down to the
community level. APIK will help to mainstream climate change adaptation
and disaster risk reduction into national and sub-national governance
frameworks, build the capacity of local communities and the private
sector to address climate change and weather-related natural hazards,
and support the use of information for climate and disaster risk
management among key stakeholders.
In
PY3-Q1 and PY3-Q2, APIK has completed the development of the first
version of Otoklim Software and BMKG Websites of the Provincial Scale
for East Java, Southeast Sulawesi and Maluku. Training for BMKG staff in
the regions has also been implemented in December 2017 and January
2018. From the training results and several interactions with the
stations in the regions, it has been noted some evaluation and input
from the staff concerned to improve the products of Otoklim and the
Website. Before the revision begun, the evaluation meeting need to be
conducted with the end user (e.g. Malang climatological station).
Through
this SoW, GIS Programmer is needed to support in processing GIS data,
producing several set of maps and merge the maps in the Reports. He /
She will also conduct a series of evaluation and refinement activities
from the province's Web and Otoklim products.
2. Objectives and Duties:
• To conduct evaluation meeting with the end user
• To improved the existing Otoklim and Website BMKG Provincial level based on inputs from the end user
3. Output:
• MoM from evaluation meeting
• Revised version of Otoklim & BMKG Website Provincial level, including:
o Several bug fixing on Otoklim & Website
o Fixing unit of rainfall & percentage on website
o Input Interpolation IDW parameter on Otoklim
4. Qualifications:
• Min.
Bachelor Degree (Preferred in Geodetic Engineer/Geoscience), others are
welcome if have strong knowledge or experience below.
• 1-3 year(s) experienced in layout map and geospatial data processing
• Experienced with:
o QGIS
o Python Scripting
5. Base of Operations:
• Jakarta, Indonesia
6. Reporting:
• The GIS Specialist will report to Climate Change Adaptation Advisor & Climate Information Services Advisor
7. Schedule:
• The GIS Specialist is expected to join by April 2018 - July 2018 (STTA - Short Term).
