Advocacy Marketing Officer
Based in Jakarta, Indonesia

We are the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the U.S. AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a legally registered NGO operating in Indonesia. AHF Indonesia collaborates with Ministry of Health as the counterpart partners and other partner organizations, to provide program technical assistance to these key stakeholders to deliver quality and comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, Care and Support, HIV counseling, and testing, Prevention, Nutrition and Psycho-social services to the key population and people living with HIV/AIDS.


AHF Indonesia is looking for a competent candidate for the position of Advocacy Marketing Officer. The position is responsible to coordinate AHF Indonesia’s advocacy and marketing work with support to country objectives and Global advocacy & Marketing priorities. He/ she works collaboratively with key stakeholders in providing technical assistance to enlarge the impact of current testing and treatment program and to make policy and regulation change that benefits HIV affected individual. He/She takes lead in developing Indonesia’s advocacy and marketing strategy and plan in consultation with CPM and Asia Advocacy & Marketing Manager to make sure the organizational mission and best practices can be well received and resonated in Indonesia.

Qualifications and experience:
 Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Law, Human Rights, Mass Communication, Community Development or any other relevant degree
  • At least 5-year experience in advocacy program development and marketing implementation
  • Appropriate experience may be considered in place of a postgraduate degree
  • Excellent understanding of HIV prevention messaging as well as use of media in HIV prevention

Skills and Specifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication effectively in English and Indonesia in a variety of settings such as staff meetings, discussions with partners, and training workshops;
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public
  • Demonstrate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and advance skills in the use of other internet tools and application.
  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge in Social Media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Flickr, etc
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondences;
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and Make decision and solve problems in complex situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with many tasks at one time.
  • Able to travel within the country and the countries of Asia Bureau;
  • Be a strategic thinker, have good organizational and planning skills and ability to prioritize tasks and work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines;
  • Flexible, proactive and able to organize work independently as well as work in a team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare annual country advocacy and marketing plan and budget, with consideration of direct reflection of designed global, regional and local advocacy and marketing goals, including campaigns and regular activities to support treatment & care, prevention & testing, brand level communication, and key events.
  • Coordinate and implement annual advocacy & marketing plans with different stakeholders including national development networks, key decision policy makers, relevant technical working groups and media; and collaborate with those stakeholders to mobilize financial support to advocacy and marketing work.. 
  • Coordinate with all site partners to plan and implement site events and activities to ensure all are aligned with country objectives and implemented in cost effective manner and receive the best impact.
  • Marketing and PR/Media Communications: Assist in the development and Roll Out of country
  • Marketing Strategies and Monitor its implementation in line with the organization’s strategy priorities to promote public awareness/engagement, brand visibility, service referral and Behavioral change. Manage AHF’s media monitoring agencies (print press clips, web, video and radio) Work with the program coordinator and M&E Officer to develop effective prevention messaging for dissemination.
  • Design and implement campaigns to expand AHF Indonesia’s target audience reach, especially youth\MSM\Sex workers\HIV+ groups, with particular focus on condom promotion, Rapid testing, etc.
  • Maintain and develop effective partnerships with NGO’s, CBOs, CSOs, AIDS control program at national and state level, PLHIV Groups, key stakeholders and other relevant institutions
  • Organize training & meeting regarding to Advocacy & Marketing and events in Indonesia
  • Celebrity ambassador management.
  • Liaise with Asia Bureau and Global Advocacy team in developing specific and general HIV/AIDS and related news stories, articles and opinion pieces to print, online and electronic news outlets
  • Oversee AHF press conferences and media events and strengthen media relations through strategic media activation
  • Represent AHF at meetings and conferences Identify and lead research into relevant development and HIV policy, write policy reports and briefings as strategic direction.
  • Attending meetings as assigned
  • Participating in Skype call meetings with Global and Bureau teams
