Background
As part of the drive
to increase the visibility of The Habibie Center (THC), THC is strengthening
its Communications Team. A Communications Officer will be part of this team and
will primarily provide both technical and administrative support to the team.
A Communications
Officer assists the team with all aspects of communications activities
including publications, documentation, maintain data base contacts, media
relations and other public relations activities as well as general
administrative tasks.
Job Description
Reporting to the
Deputy Director for Operations, and under the overall supervision of Executive
Director, a Communications Officer will:
•
Assist communication team in planning communication strategy
•
Managing internal and external publications (annual report,
journals, newsletters)
•
Assist in organizing events: logistics and documentations
•
Writing and translating (English/Bahasa Indonesia) press
release/articles/news for the organization's website, Annual Report and other
communications materials
•
Update website and social media contents (texts and photos)
•
Assist in maintaining relationship with stakeholders and
media
•
Maintaining database system and archive all communication
files and records
•
Assist in coordinating the organization's daily
activities.
•
Perform other tasks as may be required by the team
• Support
organizations’s general admin work
Qualifications:
•
Undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Public
Relations, Political Sciences or other related disciplines with some previous
experience in related fields
•
Experience in event organizing is preferable
•
Detail oriented
•
Familiar with the latest media development
•
Quick learner and easily adapts to the work environment
•
Excellent working knowledge of written and spoken English
and Indonesian
•
Pleasant personality (friendly, team player, creative with
an interest in taking on a variety of tasks) and possess a good work
ethics
•
Ability to work under pressure
•
Interest in democracy and human rights issues
•
Committed to The Habibie Center for the duration of work
contract (min 1 year)
