About the G4AW programs
Geodata for
Agriculture and Water (G4AW) projects are public-private partnerships with the
objective to improve food security in developing countries by using satellite
data. Netherlands Space Office (NSO) is executing this programme, commissioned
by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The G4AW SMARTseeds
programma in Indonesia is a consortium of partners which will implement a financially
sustainable information service that supports 100.000 vegetable farmers
(especially chilli, tomato and cucumber farmers) to increase their production,
income, food security and reduces the inputs of water, fertilizer and
pesticides. The service will eventually be owned and hosted by the Indonesian
company EWINDO, with support from the public-private Dutch and Indonesian
partners.
The G4AW GREEN
coffee programma in Vietnam is a
consortium of partners which will
implement a financially sustainable information service that supports 100.000
coffee farmers to increase their production, income, food security and reduces
the inputs of water, fertilizer and pesticides. The service will eventually be
owned and hosted by the Vietnamese company ERIPT with support from the
public-private Dutch and Vietnamese partners. The services can easily be
extended for other types of crops and/or implemented to other regions in
Indonesia.
Purpose of the job
Is responsible for the development and
realization of the objectives and strategy of the SMARTSeeds and SpiceUp
program, particularly in Business Development, in developing relevant
information services that users are willing to pay for.
Responsibilities :
1.. Collection of Relevant Market Information from
existing and potential clients of SMARTSeeds and SpiceUp.
Conducts periodic market research by
interviewing existing and potential clients of SMARTSeeds and SpiceUp, to know
what are the specific information needed by the clients, and their willingness
to pay for such information.
2.. Formulation of the Business Model
Information collected from the different users
is translated into a business case and proposition. The viability and feasibility of the business
propositions is tested and a corresponding business model is developed to show
how revenue can be generated.
3. Promotion of SMARTSeeds and SpiceUp to
existing and potential clients with good business proposition to promote the
service and the relevant information products by presenting the features,
benefits, revenue and delivery schemes.
4. Collect inputs from the clients for further
service development.
5. Communication of Findings and Recommendation
to WP5 Manager
Consolidates inputs gathered from meetings,
market research and impact or performance of business propositions for
submission to the WP5 manager and dissemination to other partners.
Qualifications needed
·
Operational knowledge on Business Development; at
least 2 years working experience on doing market research and conducting client
calls
·
Sectoral knowledge on vegetables and/or pepper will be
an advantage
·
Relevant work experience within the South East Asia
·
Collection and analysis of market information,
·
Development of business propositions and cases;
formulation of the corresponding business models
·
client inputs/feedback, to inform managers and
partners on the viability of the business case and provide recommendations as
needed
·
Fluent in English.
·
Willingness to spend much time in the field and work closely with
program target groups.
·
Experience in mobile app business development will be an advantage.
