Save the Children
in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a
national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and
self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC
Indonesia has been designated as a “Prospect Member”. As
‘Prospect
Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new
member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our
voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has
been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising
locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable
local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong
local governance structure and building key partnerships with local
government, the private sector, local civil society
among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a
pathway to full membership. We are currently seeking to fill the
following position:
CONSTRUCTION & SHELTER MANAGER
2 positions, based in Central Sulawesi
Code : CSM-ER
ROLE PURPOSE:
This
position is expected to lead Shelter and construction programme in
field office either in Palu or Northen Dongola. Shelter and Construction
Manager aims to work very closely with internal and external
stakeholders for maintaining high level of coordination and program
integration. S/he needs to manage shelter and construction team members
to ensure high level of community engagement.

Reports to: Senior Field Manager Central Sulawesi

Direct reports: Construction / Shelter Coordinators

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
Essential:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering/Architecture, Engineering Management, Construction Management with 5 years’ experience in related field .
- Knowledge on handling AutoCAD, SAP, MS word and excel.
- High skill on preparing Bill of Quantity (BOQ), cost estimate and work schedule.
- High level of skill on project management.
- Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including travelling at short notice and for extended periods of time.
Desirable:
- Masters in Civil Engineering/Architecture, Engineering Management, Construction Management etc.
- 1-2 years of Experience in related work.
- Having Knowledge on community based approach.
