Responsibilities and Scope
The
‘Respect’ team at TFT Indonesia works to help
identify, develop and deliver practical solutions to the issue
of exploitation of workers in global supply chains. Currently the
team is engaged in the Palm Oil and Tin Mining supply chains, with some support
activities in Pulp and Paper. Through its work on assessments and client
engagements, the ‘Respect’ team is now focusing on finding issues to key labout
issues such as Occupational Health and Safety, Wages and Working Hours and
Workers’ Contracts. For this, TFT Indonesia is running several projects
focusing largely on field assessments, capacity development and stakeholder
engagement in clients’ supply chains.
In
addition to this, the team is also creating document resources and developing
strategies to create impact at scale for the transformation of labour practices
in the palm oil industry. In Indonesia, TFT is looking for candidates to
support the work of the Respect team, having the following
responsibilities:

Undertake desk research,
including legal research and documentation to support project work;
·
Support the Programme
Manager and Senior Officer in the development of high quality project
proposals, reports and external communications;
·
Support the Senior
Programme Officer in the preparation of training materials, and assessments,
site visits etc.
·
Support project
consultations with external stakeholders;
·
Support and participate
with the field teams for all field work to be undertaken for the project;
·
Contribute to
discussions on project strategy ;
·
Assist and support
coordination efforts with other TFT teams and initiatives;
·
Carry out any other duties or
responsibilities as required.
Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s degree in
Law, Economics or Political Science
·
1-2 years of work
experience on labour focused issues
·
Experience in field work
·
Experience in
undertaking desk studies and research
·
Experience in
coordination and project cycle management
·
Experience in engaging with a variety of
stakeholders from the government, private sector as well as social sector.
Language skills:
·
Strong spoken and written skills in Indonesian and English
Personal characteristics:
·
Ability to work in small
teams with varying workloads
·
Capacity to initiate
work and manage deliverables independently
·
Willingness to learn
·
Excellent communication
skills and a friendly nature
·
High levels of adaptation to a fast paced
