Calling for application for Knowledge and Engagement Manager - Jakarta Berketahanan

100 Resilient Cities - Pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation (100RC) works with cities around the world to become more resilient to the physical, social, and economic challenges that are a growing part of the 21st century. 100RC supports the position of Chief Resilience Officer (CRO) in the city, with the intention for the CRO to be a catalytic force, transforming the way cities organize themselves to better meet these challenges.

The Resilient Jakarta Secretariat, funded by 100RC, will be supported locally by the UCLG-ASPAC (United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific).

1.  Knowledge and Engagement Manager, Resilient Jakarta Secretariat

Purpose

The Knowledge and Engagement Manager of Resilient Jakarta Secretariat will report directly to the City Resilience Officer for DKI Jakarta (currently the Deputy Governor DKI Jakarta for Spatial Planning and Environment). This role aims to support the City Resilience Officer to ensure an effective achievement of the targeted objectives and agendas of the Resilient Jakarta Secretariat in the areas of learning, knowledge sharing, partnership building, networking, and advocacy.
The Knowledge and Engagement Manager of Resilient Jakarta Secretariat will have:
·         Activated and strengthened collaboration and communication among city leaders in agencies, civil society, business, and regional/national government
·         Mobilized and inspired a broad range of key actors across the city toward implementation
·         Educated and influenced stakeholders to the value and benefits of resilience and fostered opportunities to leverage their work
·         Shared the city’s resilience experiences and knowledge to help and inspire other cities around the world.
The time commitment of the Knowledge and Engagement Manager for the Resilient Jakarta Secretariat will be 100 % of his/her time.

Core Responsibilities

The Knowledge and Engagement Manager of Resilient Jakarta Secretariat will:
-          Monitors the progress of Resilient Jakarta, working together with the Program Manager of Resilient Jakarta Secretariat in overseeing the timeliness of strategy development
-          Drive the conversation and promote resilience to diverse and wider stakeholders, ensuring active and inclusive public engagement throughout the process through wide range of communication approach
-          Facilitate and manage partnership that comes through Resilient Jakarta, ensuring the partnership are aligned with Resilient Jakarta vision, strategy, and implemented in an inclusive manner
-          Prepares necessary reports required by City Resilience Officer and 100RC
-          Develops work plans of the team and project and ensures an optimal implementation of the plans
-          Monitor and evaluate progress and refresh strategy and identify new initiatives
-          Provides research on related and current national and local policy
-          Maintain regular communication and reporting with 100RC and UCLG ASPAC, including representing Jakarta for 100RC related events, building partnership with cities across 100RC network as well as engaging with platform partners

Qualification

-          More than 5 years’ experience, including extensive experience working with city government and/or national government
-          Strong knowledge about public policy and its processes
-          Sound understanding of the Jakarta context
-          Experience working/familiarity with in urban resilience, sustainable development, or environment related disciplines.
-          Experience working/familiarity with disaster risk reduction and/or climate change is an asset
-          Demonstrated leadership, networking, partnership building and communication skills
-          Good understanding about knowledge management and experiences in learning and knowledge sharing
-          Good research and analytical thinking
-          Good proficiency in English
-          Master degree in public policy, urban planning or a related environmental field is preferred.
