Consultants to develop the Business Yayasan Plan International Indonesia – Mata Kail Project

 
  1. Background
Mata Kail Project aims at preparing youth to enter job markets and to be entrepreneur in fish processing through enterprise groups. The youth will go through Micro Entrepreneurship Development phases including technical and organizational capacity building, enterprise and business establishment, and finally business coaching. To help the youth throughout all these steps, Mata Kail Project Management is thinking of engaging other parties who have enough experience in delivering training in this particular topics and experience in establishing and coaching new businesses in fish processing until the businesses become more mature. The partner engaged is expected to develop training modules, deliver trainings, help the establishment of new enterprises, and provide business coaching to ensure appropriate operation of the enterprises.
Specific Objectives
  1. Development training modules including sustainable consumption and production in fish processing sector, safety standards in fish processing, fish processing technologies (preservation/cooling system, drying fish, processing fish in different products, salt productions), food menus with fish meat as the main protein sources, the heart of entrepreneurship, financial literacy, organizational management and leadership skills, value chain and market demands in fish processing,
  2. Deliver training on all the modules developed
  3. Assist local implementing partner of Mata Kail Project in facilitating the establishment of new enterprise groups where members of the groups are outputs from the training delivered. The establishment should administratively comply to requirements of local governments. There should be business plans and database for monitoring financial transaction and benefits of the enterprises.
  4. Provide technical advices for the business coaching to the newly established enterprise groups implemented by the local implementing partner. The advices should include day to day problem solving, developing marketing strategy of the enterprises, and engagement with micro-finance institutes to provide financial resources for the enterprises.
  5. Conduct business assistance and access to capital to support Youth and SMEs / MSMEs in making business plans, calculating production costs, handling raw materials, calculating expenditure and income balance, etc.
  6. Prepare a business plan proposal to start a business or develop a business that is able to get funding (access to business capital) from microfinance institutions, government programs, investors, the private sector, or plasma core system partnership patterns, etc.
  7. Develop business partnership patterns such as the plasma core system partnership pattern, etc.
  8. Accompanying the process of submitting business plan proposals and conducting dialogue with microfinance institutions.
  9. Develop marketing strategies for youth and SMEs / MSMEs on all consumer strata and marketing area levels that reach consumers and buyers.
  1. Selection criteria for Consultant technics
Consultants have the ability and gender sensitivity to develop the economy of young people, especially women in the fish processing sector in the project area. Consultant interested in submitting a proposal should have the following criteria:
  1. 5 years or more experience in capacity building and technical assistance to SMEs / MSMEs
  2. Experience in creating business plans, handlers Raw materials, calculating business operating costs and cash flow balances, preparing proposals for business capital access for SME / MSE for fish processing business
  3. Having experience to access modal
  4. Having experience to build in partnership agreement with plasma core
  5. Experience in managing SMEs, especially for those who have built their own SMEs
  6. Proficient in both English and Bahasa (oral and written)
  7. Good communication skills, with ability of explaining complex problems or concepts in simple and understandable language.
  8. Experience of working with participatory methodologies
  9. Graduated from recognized universities preferably from field fishery, entrepreneurship, and anthropology.

Seconds Step: Based on received letter of interest, budget proposals and organization profile, Yayasan Plan International Indonesia (YPII) will shortlist candidates and invite them to present strategic plans. Yayasan Plan International (YPII) Indonesia will afterwards proceed with selecting and appointing a consultant.
Only shortlisted consultant will be contacted for recruitment.
  1. Budget
Consultants may only be contracted for one year work (12 months) of project implementation with a negotiable salary.
