MONITORING AND REPORTING CONSULTANT”

NEEDED IMMEDIATELY

Nutrition International/NI is continuing to support the government on micronutrient supplementation programs: Vitamin A Supplementation (VAS), zinc and Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) for the treatment of diarrhea among children under 5, Iron and Folic Acid supplementation (IFA) for pregnant women - with a focus on improving Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) through the MITRA program with funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australia.  The MITRA program is being  implemented in 10 districts in East Java and 10 districts in East Nusa Tenggara.


For MITRA, since 2016 to 2018 NI has provided technical assistance at the national, provincial and district level to strengthen the commitment for MN supplementation programs, improve service provision and increase awareness through Behavior Change Intervention (BCI) strategies. MITRA is extended until September 2019 to ensure sustainability of micronutrient program by the government, by continuing to strengthen the capacity of provincial and district government to sustain the program, dissemination of lessons learned and best practices and advocacy for sustainable budget allocations.

Until end of September 2019, the Monitoring and Reporting (M&R) Consultant will work under the supervision of the Maternal and Child Health Program Coordinator, to extend the support to MITRA Provincial Coordinator, for the micronutrient supplementation program namely VAS, zinc & ORS, IFA for pregnant women. The M&R Consultant will support with program monitoring, compile and analyze HMIS data, analyze program data, compile field findings and provide data needed for donor reports. In order to facilitate this project, we are looking for:

Candidate requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in nutrition/public health/medical/health management. Master’s degree in statistics/social science/nutrition/public health/medical/health management will be preferable
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data management and/or community and public health nutrition (e.g. micronutrient, infant and young child feeding and women’s nutrition). Strong hands-on experience working in East Java/East Nusa Tenggara will be preferable
  • Strong technical knowledge of maternal and child health, nutrition and communicable diseases programs/issues in Indonesia
·         Familiar with the monitoring systems in public health programmes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively interact and communicate with government, academia and other stakeholders in Indonesia
  • Keen intellect with strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the technical areas of research, monitoring and evaluation.  
  • Strong report writing & presentation skills
  • Planning & coordination  skills
  • Excellent oral and written Bahasa Indonesia. Proficiency in English will be preferable
  • Must be able to travel frequently to program locations
