Tanoto Foundation is a philanthropic organization established by Mr. Sukanto Tanoto and Mrs. Tinah Bingei Tanoto to participate in poverty alleviation through three pillars: Education, Empowerment, and Enhancement. The Tanoto Foundation was built upon the belief of the founders that every human being deserves an equal right to obtain a better life. In doing so, they believe that the main pillar in getting a better life is through education.

In January 2018 the Tanoto Foundation started to develop and expand its PINTAR program (previously known as Pelita Pendidikan). The program is working to improve access to quality primary and junior secondary school education initially in 14 districts in five provinces. The provinces are North Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, East or Central Java, and East Kalimantan. The program is working with central government, district governments, schools and teacher training institutes to build their capacity to support the provision of quality education. The program will be building on its previous work in North Sumatra, Riau and Jambi and adopting proven approaches to improving education quality similar to those developed under other national or international programs.
Tanoto Foundation is seeking several Professionals with relevant capacity and experience as listed below to support the implementation of the program. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Teachers and School Training Coordinator

(Jakarta based)


TSC

1.    Developing, reviewing and revising training materials for teachers and school management & leadership (for junior secondary schools)
2.    Training other project staff to understand content of teachers and school training materials and how to use it for quality assurance and standardization
3.    Coordinating training specialists at provincial level for the implementation of teachers and school management & leadership training
4.    Supervising selection of District Facilitators jointly with local government
5.    Managing training of trainers (TOT) for District Facilitators to enable them train school stakeholders at district level
6.    Supporting and monitoring the implementation of mentoring and teacher working group activities after training
7.    Identifying future training needs and coordinating activities to develop new materials to address these needs

·     Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in education
·     Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in the education development sector especially in:
·       facilitating training of trainers for teachers, principal and other school stakeholders, and/or
·       materials development for school quality improvement, and/or
·       teaching at schools or leading schools as principal
·     Willingness to travel frequently to provinces and districts
·     Good interpersonal skills
·     Good communications skills in speaking and writing in Bahasa Indonesia
·     Good computer literacy
·     Ability to communicate in English would be an advantage




Teacher Training Institute Specialist

(Jakarta based)


TTI

1.    Support Head of TTI Development in:
i.    designing integrated program between partner TTIs and TTI lab and partner schools (Primary and Junior Secondary Schools), including module development
ii.   designing and coordinating activities at partner TTIs at national level including trainings, workshops, and meetings
iii.  designing and coordinating TTIs lab and partner school activities including trainings, and meetings, and mentoring
2.    Assist Head of TTI Development Program in coordinating the provincial activities:
i.    Review TOR of provincial activities related to TTIs and their lab and partners schools
ii.   Supervise and mentor the provincial TTI Coordinator for quality assurance and standardization
3.    Work with Head of TTI Development Program to disseminate good practices gained during the program and sustain quality improvement of student teachers at TTIs
4.    Develop Term of Reference (TOR) for TTIs partners activities in the national level and monitor the implementation of proposed activities
5.    Lead and organize national TTI coordination meetings and national showcase.
6.    Coordinate TTI partnership program relevant to the PINTAR Program priority


·      Master Degree or similar qualification from education
·      Min 8 years’ experience in working with universities
·      Willingness to travel frequently to provinces
·      Good English, both spoken and in writing.
·      Good communications and interpersonal skills.


Operation Manager

(Jakarta based)


OPM

1.    Providing administrative functions to the staff of the Basic Education program in Jakarta, including support for:
i.    Staff logistics and travel
ii.   Program events organized at the national level
iii.  General HR affair (e.g. new staff registration, annual leave, resignation, etc)
2.    Lead the procurement of goods, logistics, and services to support program implementation including identifying suppliers, maintaining a supplier database, collecting price quotations, preparing bid analyses, releasing purchase orders to selected suppliers and monitoring the timely receipt of goods and services
3.    Review draft purchase agreements, contractor agreements, subcontracts, letter of agreement and other relevant documents.
4.    Providing technical assistance to Office Manager in implementing the program in all provinces in line with technical and operational guidelines set by the national technical team
5.    Train and mentor provincial staff to assure availability and accountability of financial and administrative support and documentation to the field staff
6.    Ensuring the availability of resources (fund, staff, assets and goods and services) to support the program implementation
7.    Work with Finance Manager to maintain efficient filing systems for project administrative and financial documents..
8.    Monitor, supervise, and support the work of the office managers and administrative staff in the provincial office to ensure their alignment to work plan and SOP.


·      Bachelor Degree or similar qualification (prefer Accounting / Administrative Business)
·      Min 8 years of experience as operation
·      Works well in multi-cultural environments, with high integrity and responsibilities
·      Good computer literacy
