Administration and Finance Assistant (Jakarta, Indonesia, full time position) 

Protection International (PI) is recruiting an  Administration and Finance Assistance for its Protection Desk in Indonesia (Yayasan Perlindungan Insani Indonesia). 

Protection International is an international not-for-profit organization that supports human rights defenders in developing their security and protection management strategies. PI researches strategies and security management tools that protect human rights defenders, and shares its expertise in this area with people at risk due to their human rights work. PI tailors its approach to context and profile and always works in partnerships with defenders and local human rights movements). PI’s mission is three-fold:

• empowering HRDs to protect themselves;
• urging state authorities to fulfil their responsibility to protect HRDs;
• encouraging other stakeholders to contribute to protecting HRDS, or at least to respect their right to defend human rights.

The role
The  Administration and Finance Assistant reports to the Finance Officer and Protection International’s Representative in Jakarta and is part of PI’s Protection Desk Indonesia. Under the overall supervision of the Finance Officer and PI Representative, the Adminsitration and Finance Assistant shall be responsible but not limited to the following duties;

 Responsible for administrative tasks such as 
 Responsible for financial tasks, such as 
 Responsible for logistical arrangements as part of the  program;
 Commit to confidentiality with regard to internal issues.

The offer
Employment contract until the end of 2019 (with the option of contract renewing), governed by Indonesian law. Competitive benefits and gross monthly salary in line with the sector, commensurate with skills, experience and salary history. 

The position is full-time (40 hrs/week) with the possibility of flexible working  arrangement) and based in Jakarta. Desired start date:  8th April 2019.

Required Qualifications
• University degree in Accounting, Financial Management;
• Minimum one year of relevant work experience as Administration and Finance Assistant ; preferably with an international non-governmental organization.

Required Skills and Knowledge

 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English is essential as well as in Bahasa Indonesia;
 Experience in using the Accountancy Software  Quickbook, sango, etc.
 Experience in preparing contract letters and Tax Reports;
 Attention to details and an investigative nature;
 Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise;
 Be both autonomous and a team-player, ability to multi-task, plan and organise, and ability to work under pressure and against deadlines. Capacity to build consensus and motivate others;
 Knowledge and practice on gender equality and open minded in diversities;
 Sound decision-making in line with functions;
 Ability to travel;
 IT security management skills are an asset;
 Creative, innovative, and brave person who takes initiative;
 Having integrity and taking up responsibility for specific tasks.
