HKI Finance Assistant
INTRODUCTION
Helen
Keller International (HKI) is currently seeking a Finance Assistant
who, together with the Finance Coordinator, will manage
all bookkeeping and data entries into the system and will prepare
payments for online banking. Since the 1970s, HKI Indonesia has been
working to establish sustainable evidence-based approaches to enhance
health and nutrition, improve education for the disabled,
and expand access to eye health services for Indonesians, particularly
women and children. HKI’s programs are integrated at all levels of the
government health and education structures by helping to develop human
resources and infrastructure, conduct needs
assessments, analyze the local context to inform program design and
implementation, train personnel, provide basic equipment and supplies,
deliver services as needed, monitor program progress and evaluate
program impact.

Daily
Responsibilities:
- Ensure expenses are in accordance with HKI policies, and all project-related transactions are conducted, processed and recorded as stipulated by HKI’s rules and regulations..
- Prepare payment vouchers in a timely manner, and ensure the validity of invoices, approval signatories and the accuracy of the accounting codes and project initiative codes.
- Assist in liaising with the bank for the authorized signatories, bank statements and check book requests.
- Maintain proper banking arrangements and ensure the effective management of cash flow.
- Follow-up on advance reconciliations, ensuring they are settled in a timely manner in accordance with HKI’s policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of HKI’s monthly financial reports, ensuring that they are accurate, complete and submitted to HKI HQ on time
- Conduct the data entry in an automated accounting system (QB system), ensuring that transactions are appropriately recorded and comply with HKI policies and procedures.
- Consult with the Finance Coordinator regularly about the conduct of the assigned tasks.
- Maintain a close coordination with HKI colleagues on financial matters and advise them, as appropriate, on matters requiring their attention.
- Assist with the maintenance of the filing system of all financial reports, fund requests and other finance documents.
- Assist with other accounting, financial and administrative tasks consistent with the overall scope of this position.
Job Requirement
- Minimum Diploma III or higher, preferably with a Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or tax regulations.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the area of finance management and reporting, preferably for an NGO.
- Hard working and paying attention to details are essential.
- Excellence in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Accounting Software, and Banking System skills.
- Excellent organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Immediate availability is preferred.
