VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT – TERRESTRIAL PROGRAM

Conservation
International is a non-profit organization based in US that works to spotlight
and secure the critical benefits that nature provides to humanity. Conservation
International has been working in Indonesia since 1991, under the cooperation
with Ministry of Environment and Forestry, with two major programs: terrestrial
(forest/landscapes) and marine (seascapes).
CI Indonesia - Terrestrial
program works in three provinces: West Java, North Sumatra, and West Papua; to
promote a sustainable development through sustainable landscapes approach,
green supply chain, and multiple-use of forest management to support the
Sustainable Development Goals in Indonesia, especially SDG No 13 and 15. We are
supporting the Government of Indonesia both at national and province level, to
achieve their commitment towards sustainable development, climate change, and
environmental protection, as well as its long-term benefits to the society and
economic development.
Conservation International works with high-level
Government officials, private sectors, NGOs, academician, and communities in
supporting the achievements of those objectives; through various programmatic
activities: strengthening the governance, technical assistance in formulating
the policy/regulation, private sectors engagement, and outreach/education to
the community. Communications materials are important to support our program
implementations in all levels, and thus we are looking for a visual
communications consultant to support in the production of those materials,
mainly for graphic design and short video editing.
A. SCOPE OF WORK/DELIVERABLE
1.
The Consultant will assist Program Communications and Reporting Manager
to produce various communications products, including but not limited to:

Editorial Design: Reports, Fact sheets, Project booklet, Assessment,
Newsletter, etc.
·
Education Materials: Infographics, Poster
·
Visual communications contents for Instagram, Facebook fan page, and
website
· Short video (with simple
video editing tools)
· Branding and Collateral:
banner, backdrop, t-shirt, etc.
2.
The contents (text) for all materials will be under Program’s team
responsibilities; but the Consultant should make sure a high-quality of
products including to get good images, footages, etc. Branding guide and
communications protocol will be provided as a guidance for the Consultant. The
production of communications materials will be based on the communications plan
as well as ad-hoc request based on programmatic needs/priorities.
3.
Consultant will also assist to regularly maintain Conservation
International’s images and video library; and closely liaised with the team to
get proper project documentation. Consultant also needs to liaise with vendor
in producing the materials, i.e. printing or to get footages, etc.
B. TIMELINE & CONDITION
This position will be working with
Program team under the direction from Program Communications and Reporting
Manager, from mid-May until end of December 2020, with possibility of extension.
Under certain circumstances, the
Consultant can work from home and must manage high-quality products as required
by Conservation International.
In normal circumstances, Consultant
is expected to come to CI Indonesia office from Monday – Friday, especially to
get an initial brief and product finalization, in order to get an intensive
review from the Manager.
C. REQUIREMENTS
1. Solid
experience and expertise in visual communications design with proven track
record in producing various communications products to different
audiences.
2. Advance
in using various graphic design software, i.e. AI, Corel Draw, ID, Photoshop.
3. Experience
in producing short video (with limited footages and photos).
4. Strong
understanding about branding, style, etc. in communications products.
5. Ability
to work under pressure with limited deadline, ability to manage priorities.
6. Team
player, high level attention to details, and familiar with various
format/template of communications products.
7. Basic
understanding of social media trend and effective visual products for digital
engagement.
8. Experience
dealing with printing vendors, production house, etc.
