Position:
Local Project Officer – Sustainable Energy Access (based in Semarang, Central Java).
Background
Institute for
Essential Services Reform (IESR), a think tank in energy and environment, is
working on an initiative to transform Indonesia's energy sector to be more
sustainable and low carbon.
About the Position
IESR is looking for Local Project Officer (LPO)
Sustainable Energy Access. S/he will be responsible for coordinating tasks under
Solar Revolution Hub, between IESR management in Jakarta with stakeholders in
Central Java. S/he will be IESR’s point of contact in Semarang and contribute
in developing detailed plans for tasks implementation, manage day-to-day
implementation of projects, and to communicate regularly with a wide range of
stakeholders. S/he will work under Program Manager Sustainable Energy Access
and will be stationed at the Energy and Mineral Resources Department, Central Java
Provincial Government.
IESR is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and
qualified candidate to join our dynamics team.
Key roles and responsibilities

Carry out daily tasks of projects implementation,
including organizing stakeholder workshops, writing reports, collecting data,
and performing periodical travels.

Ensure regular communication between IESR’s office
in Jakarta with local governments at different levels, universities, business
and commercials, local project partners, CSOs, news media, and other IESR’s
partners. S/he will also assist Program Manager Sustainable Energy Access to
develop a strategy for gathering learnings from the program.

Contribution to other work themes when necessary.
Qualification
· An Indonesian native, educated to
bachelor’s degree level from a reputable university, majoring in engineering or
natural sciences with minimum 2 years’ work experience in a relevant field.
· Those who already reside in Semarang
or other locations in Central Java are preferred (IESR will not cover
relocation costs).
· Sufficient background and
understanding of energy and energy access issues, power/electricity, and
renewable energy (policy, research, project development etc.) is strongly
preferred.
· Demonstrable experience in project
management including planning and organization of stakeholder workshops, meetings,
etc.
· Experience of communicating and
networking with external stakeholders, including government, research
institutes, and CSOs.
· Experience of working in community
development and with communities at grass-root level is an advantage.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and
demonstrable ability to work as part of a team, including with external
partners, and distance working.
· Professional English fluency, at
least in speaking, is required.
· Excellent with MS Office/MS
Office-like system.
· Available to work started in early August
2020.
Starting Date
Expected start in early August 2020, with 3 months’
probation.
Salary
Salary and benefits are competitive and will be
commensurate with the candidate's qualification and experiences.
