Impact Lead

 

JAPFA Foundation was founded in 2015. During the past years since it has been founded, JAPFA

Foundation has been active in giving scholarship, working on nutrition and social issues, helping over

1000 students, 19 schools, 5295 beneficiaries and 239 educators.

 

Since 2020, JAPFA Foundation has been transforming into a more agile and progressive organization

and focusing more on giving impact towards smallholder farmers. We believe that smallholder

farmers in Indonesia need to level up themselves in terms of agricultural productivity. To achieve

that, it is important to educate farmers to see farming as a business and understand the good

farming practices.

 

In September 2020, we launched Bertani Untuk Negeri (BUN) program to develop Indonesian

agriculture sector through productivity improvement. This is achieved through facilitating Indonesian

youth to meet smallholder farmers, transferring their knowledge, giving mentorship, and solving

problems faced by farmers in the process. Through the program, we expect a positive influence on

smallholder farmers’ effectiveness and efficiency in farming and on Indonesian youths’ capability and

skill set to become future leaders.

 

Up until now, the program has been implemented in two batches of broiler chicken farming and has

received very positive feedback from both youths and farmers. There have been 160+ farmers and

60+ students receiving the impact from this program.

 

This year, we are very excited to expand the scale of the program and the commodity that we serve

to increase our impact towards smallholder farmers. This is our first step in order to achieve our

vision to become a farming center of excellence in Indonesia. Currently we are looking for an Impact

Lead to join our exciting journey. This will be a unique opportunity to build, define, and truly own a

program that will deliver real impact.

 

 

Basic Information and Responsibilities

 

Employment type: : 1-year contract (May 2021 - May 2022)

Work location : Jakarta, Indonesia

Function : Product

Reporting to : Head of Product

You are expected to help design and launch expansion programs according to the objectives to be

achieved. The details of the job will include, but might not be limited to the following:

 

● Lead interviews or meetings with external stakeholders (farmers, partners, experts, etc.)

independently;

● Synthesize findings to design overall program concept (e.g. target participants, program

duration, curriculum overview, evaluation mechanism, etc.) that satisfies business

requirement and stakeholders interest;

● Map out resources needed to deliver the program and work together with other functions or

external stakeholders to fulfill needed resources;

● Manage the project to ensure all required deliverables are fulfilled on time;

● Develop course material and evaluation instrument needed for the program delivery;

● Deliver the actual training to program participants as facilitator;

● Capture learning from program implementation for improvement in the future.

 

Requirements

● Minimum 1 year of experience in designing and implementing initiatives;

● Management consulting / professional services firm / top-tier start-ups background is

preferred;

● Management / business / finance education background is preferred (or having knowledge in

these field of study);

● Love working on challenges and solving them together with the team;

● Ability to work independently and resourceful;

● Have a strong sense of ownership over responsibilities and result-driven to deliver real

impact towards smallholder farmers;

● Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills;

● Comfortable with ambiguity and able to cope with sudden change in requirement;

● Strong written and spoken communication and presentation skills (English and Indonesian);

● Ability to travel to program site as necessary;

● Ability to use Ms. Excel and Ms. PowerPoint.
