Small-scale Fisheries Manager
The Small-scale Fisheries Manager will facilitate the development and management of any SSFs program or project including customary- and community-based fisheries and TURFs in collaboration with local communities, and government, non-government and private sector partners at sub-provincial, provincial and national levels.
The Small-scale Fisheries Manager will facilitate partners, grantees, and beneficiaries, to employ management cycle of SSFs by carrying out, but not limited to, (i) periodic situational analysis, problem identification, and development of theory of transformational change; (ii) program/project design based on identified problems, including selection of stock assessment method, establishing harvest strategies, meaningful community engagement, and make effective SSFs management plan; (iii) program/project and budget planning; (iv) program/project implementation, including supervise biological monitoring and program/project performance monitoring, and (v) periodic and final evaluation to evaluate interventions’ effectiveness, impacts (both ecological and social), and sustainability. In addition, the Manager will also facilitate any feasible type of SSFs being implemented to obtain sustainability certification, or at least meeting globally accepted sustainable fisheries standards of practice.
The Small-scale Fisheries Manager will work with other units such as Finance, External Affairs and Development to seek for funding and develop relevant proposal; and collaborate with relevant units to publish program or project results. S/he reports to Sustainable Fisheries Program Director and is based in Bali field office.
