RFP 2003-01 USI External QC Refresher Training for District Industry & Trade Officers (DITO)

Since 2010, Nutrition International (NI) has been providing support to government and salt processors for salt iodization in three main salt producing areas; viz. Central Java, East Java and West Nusa Tenggara province. This includes technical assistance to develop capacity of salt processors to fortify salt, assistance to Provincial and District Industries and Trade Offices in monitoring and supervision of USI programs as well as strengthen USI IDD monitoring. Considerable progress has been made, particularly on the institutionalization of USI monitoring within local governments. In Central Java adequately iodized salt coverage increased from 60% in 2017 to 85% in 2020, and East Java from 62% to 89% at the same time.

However, these achievements need to be strengthened and maintained through effective USI monitoring and control. Capacity of local monitoring agencies i.e., DITOs to monitor USI and control IDD need to be continuously maintained and strengthened. NI will continue its support for local government to implement USI monitoring in Central Java and East Java Provinces through providing refresher training on USI external quality control for DITO officers.

Therefore, NI is seeking services from an agency that has experience and capacity to conduct external QC refresher training for DITO officers from salt producing district in Central Java and East Java provinces.
