Shelter Technician (ST) Mamuju & Majene, West Sulawesi Project Manager Project Manager March 2022 ­ to June 2022, with possible extension 28 February 2022

 

Background

Yayasan ADRA Indonesia is an Agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The mission of the agency is to serve humanity so all may live as God intended. ADRA Indonesia belongs to the worldwide ADRA network, comprised of more than 120 supporting and implementing country offices.

 

ADRA has more than 20 years of experience on emergency response throughout Indonesia. In West Sulawesi, ADRA Indonesia has activated National Emergency Management and Plan to provide emergency response with multi sectoral approach, including emergency shelter. The goal of the 5 months emergency intervention is to protect lives, reduce suffering and increase coping capacity of populations during acute emergency phase following the West Sulawesi Indonesia earthquake.

 

Functions of role

 

The main role of ST is to manage every aspect of supervision, training and accompaniment toward the societies as the beneficiary including coordinating the implementation of renovation of houses affected by the earth quake.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The ST will work under the supervision and to support Project Manager to deliver quality project outputs that contribute to protect lives, reduce suffering and increase coping capacity of populations during emergency phase. The ST is required to undertake the following tasks:

 

·       Organize and manage the training and supervision program toward the damage houses in the societies’ environment affected by the natural disaster and earthquake.

·       Identify operational needs, set priorities and communicate this to the affected societies.

·       Supported by the Community Organizer in training of the Ferrocement Technic in rebuilding the earthquake resistant houses to achieve the recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction goal.

·       Monitoring the field works in particular with the carpenters and the owners of the houses.

 

Qualifications and Competencies Required

·       A bachelor or master degree in Civil Engineer and/or Architecture.

·       Minimum 2 (two) year experience in the Retrofitting and Ferrocement Technical System.

·       Capable in conducting the assessment and in providing the Budget and socialize it to the house owners.

·       Capable in training the carpenters and supervising Retrofitting dan Ferrocement Technic toward the houses of the owners.

·       Master in 3D, Photoshop and Corel Draw.

·       Capable in socializing the Ferrocement construction to the societies.

·       Able to communicate with the local government institutions.

·       Capable in providing the reports as a part of the field process.
