GEDSI Adviser

The role

Join Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Justice 2 (AIPJ2) as a Gender Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Adviser and play an integral role to provide strategic GEDSI advice to ensure GEDSI is mainstreamed within AIPJ2 strategies, activities, policy advice and reporting and simultaneously lead targeted GEDSI initiatives.The role shall coordinate, network and collaborate with relevant stakeholders on gender and disability inclusion at the national level and sub-national level and be a contributor to the Knowledge Hub. To reflect mainstreaming, this position has shifted from management to advisory, and acts as a point of contact on GEDSI for DFAT and Bappenas. The GEDSI Adviser will also provide strategic advice and analysis to DFAT to strengthen AIPJ2 outcomes and actively promote AIPJ2's GEDSI achievements.

About you

You will be a motivated and proactive GEDSI Adviser with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to technical excellence. You will also have:

  • Bachelor/Post Graduate Degree in social sciences, humanities or relevant sector and at least 5 years' experience implementing GEDSI activities in a donor funded program environment.
  • Significant research and policy development experience, with a strong grasp of knowledge to policy concepts and the ability to quality control
  • Demonstrated understanding of social inclusion and how to overcome barriers for women and rights for people with disabilities
  • Experience in developing relationships and implementing programs at national and subnational levels
  • Experience working with civil society networks in Indonesia, including an understanding of the challenges they face in governance and management
  • Knowledge and experience of Australian Government Aid program management, sound understanding of risk management and human resources systems and processes.  
  • High-level interpersonal skills including verbal and written communications skills (English and Bahasa Indonesian) and an exceptional ability to develop and maintain results-focused stakeholder relationships in a complex environment.
