Objectives of the Programme:
WHO
is the directing and coordinating technical authority for health. WHO
recognizes that effective, integrated and coordinated communication is
integral to carrying out WHO's goal to build a better, healthier future
for people all over the world. The objectives of WHO communications at
country level are oriented towards enhancing the appetite for, and
accessibility of, information relating to health issues of concern and
encouraging behavior changing activities based on this sharing of
information. All communications staff across all offices are committed
to making sure that WHO's information, advice, and guidance effectively
reaches key audiences to protect the health of individuals, families,
communities and nations. Overall, this post will strengthen WHO's
communication capacity, with an emphasis on digital communications on
public health issues of local, national and international concern.
Description of Duties:
Under
the direct supervision of NPO (Communication) and general guidance of
the Planning Officer and WHO Representative to Indonesia, the incumbent
will:
- Develop
and manage the online communications of WHO Indonesia (i.e. website,
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and other relevant social media)
in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Manage digital campaigns for WHO health days and UN health-related days.
- Deploy scheduling and analytic tools to optimize WHO social media channels and inform communication strategy.
- Design social media and website content.
- Technical support in video and photo content creation, editing and production.
- Perform editing and proofreading functions for website and other digital content.
- Support in developing various documents including press releases, fact sheets, background documents and stories.
- Support in implementation of brand and corporate identity during WHO external and internal events.
- Identify
training needs for strengthening social media and web story-telling
capacity and participate in the delivery of internal workshops and
trainings related to content creation and engagement.
- Support in building internal communications capacity.
- Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Qualifications:
Essential: Relevant Master's degree in communications/public relations/international relations or another relevant subject.
Desirable: Post-graduate studies or PhD in communications/public relations/international relations or another relevant subject.
Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum
two years' experience in digital communications/social media
agency/corporate communications/content management or similar.
- Experience using a style guide and visual identity guidelines across different media.
Desirable:
- Four
or more years of experience in digital communications/social media
agency/corporate communications/content management or similar, ideally
within an international context.
- Experience with an international organization/NGO.

- Applications/CMS for website and social media analysis.

- Proven ability to communicate and engage effectively with digital media audiences.

- Technical expertise and overall attitude at work are mandatory competencies.
Languages:
Expert knowledge of English.
Expert knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia.
Other Skills (e.g. IT):
Work is performed in normal working environment.
Software
applications and platforms needed for digital communications, including
Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Google Analytics and social media
analytics.
Remuneration:
SSA Digital Communications Officer, Level A.
Between IDR 25,708,600 to 41,419,267 (in accordance with WHO Salary Scale for SSA).
