PROGRAM MANAGER - ROTE MALOLE

SurfAid is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing. SurfAid is currently working in a few locations in Indonesia: Mentawai Islands District in Sumatra Barat, Bima District in NTB and Sumba Barat District in NTT. We work in the areas that are considered the most remote, with limited infrastructure and few community empowerment programs working there. 


We are currently establishing a new program in Rote, East Nusa Tenggara and looking for an experienced and resourceful person with a positive “CAN DO” attitude to join the team as our:



PROGRAM MANAGER - ROTE MALOLE



As part of the Programs Team, the Program Manager Rote Malole is responsible for managing the strategic development, implementation and successful delivery of the SurfAid Rote Malole Programme in line with SurfAid values and donors’ expectations.


THE PERSON:

You are experienced in implementing all program/ project management cycles since you will be involved from the beginning of the Rote Malole program. You will be based in a remote area for a long period of time and required to spend 60% of your work time to travel to the village to support your field team, therefore your willingness to travel in basic conditions is highly expected. It would be great if you are used to working with small organizations, as you are required to be hands-on as necessary to engage in improving the system.



THE QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES:


  • Minimum a bachelor degree in relevant major, or with sufficient experience in development or humanitarian sector

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in managing development programs/projects, some of which are in remote areas

  • Experience in all phases of the program/project management cycle

  • Good knowledge or familiarity with public health, MCH, nutrition, or water sanitation topics

  • Strong people management skill

  • Independent manager with “CAN DO”- attitude

  • Analytical skills, strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Clear communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English

  • Computer literate

  • Understanding of statistics

  • Writing skills for reportings and proposals
