As we are constantly expanding, we are currently hiring to fill the following position for our office in Jakarta:

Yayasan Konservasi Indonesia (KI), the main partner of Conservation International (CI) in Indonesia, envisions a healthy and prosperous Indonesia where biodiversity is valued and preserved. With offices and project sites across Indonesia, we promote a sustainable landscape-seascape approach and establish partnerships with multiple stakeholders across sectors and jurisdictions to deliver lasting impacts for people and nature in Indonesia.
In 2020, the Government of Indonesia (GOI) set an ambitious target for protection and effective management of 32.5 million hectares (10%) of its territorial waters by 2030 (MPA Vision 2030). Earlier this year, Indonesia announced plans to increase its marine protection ambitions to 30% of its waters by 2045, representing a total area of 97.5 million hectares. Indonesia’s MPA Vision 2030 recognizes the role of marine and coastal ecosystems and biodiversity in supporting local livelihoods and a robust national economy. Maximizing the potential of nature-based solutions to deliver positive, large-scale climate, marine conservation, and sustainable ocean development outcomes in Indonesia will require strategic and appropriately scaled investments and financing. CI, KI, and government partners establish a unique funding mechanism called the Blue Halo S.
The Blue Halo S that links effective marine ecosystem protection with sustainable production, and development of ocean resources and seeks to support advancements of these objectives through the mobilization of funding for critical science and data, sustainable management of critical ecosystems, support to small scale fishers and communities and to increase resilience of these marine areas. The Senior Manager will be responsible for day-to-day coordination with consultants and stakeholders (government and non-government partners) for the preparation of Blue Halo S (project preparation facilities). He/She will ensure key elements of Blue Halo S which are science, policy and finance are progressing to support the implementation of the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Ensure key government partners and others are engaged, coordinated, and consulted on progress and planning of Blue Halo S
● Work closely with consultants in the project preparation facility (PPF) to ensure proper representation of partners and experts in the preparation process,
● Lead coordination with sub-national governments to obtain their participation in the meetings for adequate data collection process
● Review consultant documents (workplan, methodologies and reports) and lead internal coordination for feedback,
● Coordinate the development of Blue Halo S proposal to GCF and to other potential donors,
● Represent Konservasi Indonesia and ensure effective communications and information sharing between all partners and stakeholders about KI and Blue Halo S.
● Work with KI’s communication team on Blue Halo S communication materials and plans
● Manage the preparation of reporting summaries and project narratives.
● Work closely with KI’s Senior Management Team, advisors, and field team in the eco regions
● Manage project staff which may include hiring and managing subcontractors, partner staff, and other non-CI project personnel.
● Perform related duties as assigned.
PEOPLE AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
· Act as a technical or subject matter expert to peers and other staff.
· Responsible for managing some public or private funds, monitoring results, and recommending follow-up action. Reviews for understanding and compliance with donor agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years or more related experience. Advanced degree preferred.
· Direct project management experience (including planning and budgeting) preferably in conservation, fisheries management, climate change, other relevant topics
· Up to 5 years of experience supervising others and managing and motivating multi-cultural teams.
· Understanding of the economic and environmental issues facing developing countries and the local communities is strongly preferred.
· Ability to diagnose problems and identify solutions.
· Strong written communication skills. Proficient in written and spoken English.
· Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, set priorities, and deliver quality results.
WORKING CONDITIONS
● Periodic travel to the project site and other office locations.
● Comfortable working out of doors for extended periods.
● Ability to work outside the normal work schedule to meet project deadlines.
