The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German implementing organization which provides services worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.
The SUPA REPEAT (‘Sustainable Use of Peatland and Haze
Mitigation in ASEAN) programme is co-financed by the EU and the German Federal
Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
The initiative supports the implementation of the ASEAN
Programme on ‘Sustainable Management of Peatland Ecosystems’ (APSMPE) under
the shared overall objective ‘to promote the sustainable management of
peatlands in the ASEAN region through collective actions and to enhance the
cooperation to support and sustain local livelihoods, reduce the risk of fire
and associated haze and contribute to global environmental management.’
Component 1 (of two components) of the progamme is on
‘peatland governance’ implemented by GIZ. Based on the
intervention logic, the implementation of this component is structured
into three work areas.
- Work Area 1: Strengthening regional co-operation by strengthening ASEAN
- Work Area 2: Specific Support to AMS for the implementation of APMS and NAPPs
- Work Area 3: Generating Pilot Experiences from Indonesia and Malaysia
GIZ
seeks a qualified Indonesian candidate for the position of a:
Trainee
- Responsibilities
The trainee shall support the preparation
and implementation of the SUPA Component 1 in coordination with SUPA Advisors:
· Preparation of workshops and events.
· Compile and consolidate project achievement.
- Tasks
The following tasks provide a framework
and can be adjusted during the traineeship:
· Assist the team in preparing events (e.g., trainings, workshops, meetings, study tours) and participate in the planning and organizing process of the events.
· Collect data and information through project reports and input to the system.
· Support the internal monitoring.
· Assist in other relevant tasks as requested.
C. Required qualifications, competences, and experience
Formal Education
· Final year undergraduate / graduated student, majoring in forestry, environment or any related major (recent graduates are also encouraged to apply).
Other knowledge, additional competences
· Experience in literature research and expert interviews
· Work experience related on peatland or forestry will be advantage
· Ability to work in a team;
· Good communication, organisational, and time management skills;
· Good command of Ms. Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
· Proficiency in English (writing and speaking).
Working Hours: 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day
Expected Joining Date: a.s.a.p.
Period of Traineeship: 6 months
Direct Supervisor: Advisor of SUPA Project
