Purpose

Yayasan Visi Indonesia Raya Emisi Nol Bersih (ViriyaENB) is a climate foundation established with a vision of net zero society underpinned by an equitable and regenerative economy in Indonesia. Our funding supports civil society and other key relevant groups at national and subnational levels to advance solutions that will help Indonesia on its path to achieving net zero emissions by mid-century. The solutions are based on science, rooted in both local wisdom and international best practice, and create positive outcomes such as climate resilience, economic progress, equity, and environmental protection.

 

To achieve its mission, ViriyaENB serves as a strategic grantmaker, convenor, capacity builder and thought partner. Our grantmaking programs focuses on accelerating an equitable transition to net zero society in energy-related sectors including power, industry, transport and built environment. We support works to promote policy action, catalyze successful models by subnational, corporate and civil society groups, and enhance preparedness for net zero transition. We are looking for a strategic, collaborative, and dynamic Program Manager to join our growing team. This is a full-time position open to Indonesian nationals only.

 

Position Summary

The Program Manager provides grant program’s strategy, management, communications, and implementation support to the Program Directorate currently under direct supervision of the Executive Director. The Program Manager oversees grant program portfolio andensure its successful progress against ViriyaENB’s 3-year Strategy Framework. The Program Manager manages communication between ViriyaENB and grantees and other key

program partners as well as promote collaboration among grantees, between grantees and other actors pertinent to successful missions of ViriyaENB and grantees.

 

Responsibilities

The Program Manager is responsible for the following main duties:

• Grant management. Manage and coordinate grant program including identifying potential initiatives and partner organizations; working with prospective grantees to develop concept notes and proposals; analysing proposals against predefined evaluation criteria for recommendation to the Grant Committee; periodically assessing the grant progress with partners; and reviewing financial and narrative reports.
• Strategy. Operationalize the strategies outlined in ViriyaENB’s theory of change into grant making portfolio and partnership building initiatives. Actively monitor developments in the energy sector and other sectors relevant to net zero goals, assess the strategies viability in real world, and provide advice to the Executive Director for strategy adaptation and adjustment.
• Collaborations. Work with internal and external groups to continually assess the challenges and opportunities related to the grant program and identify potential collaborative interventions and partnerships. Facilitate collaboration among grantees and between grantees and other relevant partners for stronger ecosystem and bigger impact.
• Communication and reporting. Support coordination and preparation of materials concerning the grant program under his/her supervision for communication and reporting to both internal and external audience.

 

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred, or 10 years of equivalent experience.
• Education training or working experience in energy, climate change, economics, and other development areas would be an advantage.
• Demonstrated program and project management skills.
• Excellent relationship management skills and proven ability to build collaborative relationships internally across teams and externally with a diverse range of partners and target groups.
• Written and oral fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both virtually and in-person, with minimal
• supervision.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and ability to be analytical, strategic, and problem solving.
• Flexibility, responsiveness, and ability to manage multiple activities to tight deadlines.
• Strong commitment to excellence and integrity, embracing a culture of continues learning.
• Demonstrated passion to work with civil society groups and the philanthropic community.

 

Remuneration

This position is for 3-year fixed term contract with a possibility for extending it based on performance. ViriyaENB offers competitive remuneration package that commensurate with experience.

This position is based in ViriyaENB’s office in Jakarta.
