CIDA - SILE/LLD Project – Accounting Manager
The Project Supporting Islamic Leadership in Indonesia (SILE)/ Local Leadership for Development (LLD), funded by Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and executed by a Canadian consultant firm, is to build the capacity of a) selected State Islamic University (UIN) and State Islamic Institute (IAIN) in their outreach functions with local communities, and b) the Ministry of Religious Affairs to effectively integrate democratic governance practices in their strategies, programs and budgets to support university-based community outreach.
The Accounting Manager will report to the Canadian Team Leader and work in the Jakarta Project office. The key responsibilities will be:
· Set up and maintain accounting systems, financial records and procurement procedures for the Project in Jakarta and provide guidance to the establishment of effective and efficient financial systems in Makassar and Surabaya offices
· Prepare annual and quarterly financial expense forecasts, plan for transfer and advance requests to project offices in Jakarta, Surabaya and Makassar
· Prepare financial reports (quarterly and annual) in accordance with Project accounting requirement and maintain payroll for all staff
· Process daily/monthly accounts for expenditures from project bank accounts and cash/bank and travel advance reconciliations
· Review expenditures and develop budget control mechanisms to monitor Project performance to budget by results
· Ensure procurement of goods and services compliance with Project requirements
· Prepare for SILE/LLD financial annual audit
Qualifications:
· Minimum Sarjana (S1) in Accounting
· At least 10 years of experience in Accounting
· Very familiar with computer software such as Quick book and MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
· Experience working in the context of project preferably in higher education sector
· Strong Indonesian language communication and a very good command of spoken and written English
· Ability to work well with team from different background (Canadian, Indonesian of various fields) and at national and regional level (Makassar, Surabaya)
· Capacity to work independently
