Started on 2006 CARE has tried to prevent malnutrition in infants and young children under 24 months old in West Timor through an approach to increase the knowledge and skills of health workers and community with regards to optimal infant and young child feeding practices by working with key community contacts. Starting on 2008 CARE through Prima Bina program start to promote, protect and support infant and young child feeding and related maternal nutrition in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, with experience in Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) program CARE learned that a well designed behavior change communication (BCC) strategy is needed to improve, not only the feeding practices but also the maternal nutrition, which is directly related to the optimal health of the newborn.
