IT ASSISTANT

CARE International
Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried out large scale
operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency operations, transitional
activities centered on agriculture and nutrition and a range of development
initiatives in such areas as water and sanitation, health and micro-credit.
CARE Indonesia in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara is currently recruiting the following position:

JOB TITLE : IT ASSISTANT
DEPARTMENT/PROJECT : PROGRAM/PfR
REPORTS TO : PROJECT MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

To provide general support of IT matters at CARE Indonesia Field Office in East Nusa Tenggara. During her/his assignment, she/he also must work close together with IT Officer at CIIHQ. For major decisions he/she has to make consultation with IT Officer at CIIHQ before implementing the request.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

1. Design, develop and maintain of IT infrastructure and network management support
a. Ensure that appropriate design of IT infrastructure is made available to CARE Indonesia Field Office in East Nusa Tenggara. In this connection, provide necessary support for the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure at the office.
b. Provide daily network infrastructure administration and troubleshooting hardware and software related problem.
c. Make a simple program or application if needed.

2. Provide general IT support
a. Ensure that appropriate design of database is made available in accordance to project needs. In this sense, provide necessary support for the development and maintenance of project database.
b. Provide daily database administration and troubleshooting hardware and software related problem.
c. Design, develop and maintain office file management system (soft copy).
d. Make a simple program or database application or generate data base report as required.
e. Provide support with book, video, and audio editing.
f. Provide support with GIS matters.
g. Provide other support as required by project.

3. Establish IT policies, manuals, standards, reports, and security measures
a. Develop policies and manuals in all areas of IT and network management at CARE Indonesia Field Office in East Nusa Tenggara and must be correlated with ITpolicies, manuals, standards, reports, and security measures in CIIHQ.
b. Establish and update standards for hardware and software used by the CARE Indonesia Field Office in East Nusa Tenggara and must be correlated with standards in CIIHQ.
c. Ensure that there is adequate system security by refining network monitoring and implementing security management software on servers and individual computer (including anti-virus tools) and must be correlated with standards in CIIHQ.
d. Generate monthly IT performance report on bandwidth utilization, security report, and potential IT issues.

4. Support to the wide applications
a. Provide systems support to CARE’s financial systems (currently SCALA) at CARE Indonesia Field Office in East Nusa Tenggara.
b. Establish backup and recovery strategies support for each wide applications and must be correlated with standards in CIIHQ.

5. Manage control IT Unit facilities and budget
a. Manage IT unit budget and track of the unit’s expenditure.
b. Develop and maintain IT equipment inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education in diploma in IT with relevant field such as Multimedia, MIS, Networking, Software Development, etc.
2. Needs specific technical skills for Windows and Linux OS.
3. Experience in General IT support including networking, troubleshooting, multimedia.
4. Experience using Windows and Linux OS and applications.
5. Experience with book, video, and audio editing.
6. Experience with database and GIS.
