Team Leader /Environmental Education Specialist

The British Council is seeking Indonesian national and international consultants for following positions in response to the anticipated project entitled Formulation of a National Action Plan for Environmental Education under the Analytical and Capacity Development Partnership (ACDP) scheme. ACDP is a facility to promote policy dialogue and institutional reform of the education sector to underpin policy implementation and help reduce disparities in provincial and district education performance formed by the Government of Indonesia (GOI), the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the European Union (EU) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). ACDP supports policy development, organizational change and planning for capacity development for the education sector.
 

The duration of the project is  for 12 months

The formulation of the National Action Plan for Environmental Educationisexpectedto improve  the  relevance  and  quality  of  environmental  education  in  primary  and  secondary schools and to strengthen and expand the nation’s foundation of knowledge,values,attitudes, behaviours,skills and insights concerning sustainable development.   Increasing community knowledge and awareness on the environment is expected to provide a strong foundation or improved management of the environment and achievement of sustainable economic growth

British Council is seeking the following individuals to become part of our research team.

1.  Team Leader /Environmental Education Specialist
(International)
The consultant should have the following qualifications,skills ande xperience:
·      Post-graduate degree(preferably Ph.D.– S3,minimum Mastersdegree–S2) in education, environmental studies or a related field;
·      Atleast15yearsofinternationalexperienceintheplanning,programmingandreviewof environmentaleducationprograms;
·      Atleast7yearsasaTeamLeaderinconsultancyassignmentsrelatedtoenvironmental education;
·      ExcellentreportwritingskillsinEnglish;
·      ConversationalfluencyinBahasaIndonesiadesirable;and
·      ExperiencewiththeIndonesianeducationsystemisdesirable.

2. EnvironmentalEducationCurriculumSpecialist (National)
The consultant should havethefollowingqualifications,skillsandexperience:
·      Post-graduatedegree(preferablyPh.D.– S3,minimumMasters degree– S2)inEducation and/orenvironmentalaffairsorarelatedfieldofspecialization;
·      At  least  15  years  of  relevant  experience  related  to  development  of environmental education(preferablydevelopmentofcurriculum);
·      Experienceinmonitoringandevaluationofpublicprogramsrelatedtoeducationand theenvironment;
·      Knowledgeofsustainabilityissuesandexperienceinthe implementationofprogramsto applyeducationforsustainabledevelopmentindesireable;and
·      ExcellentreportwritingskillsinBahasaIndonesiaandEnglish.

3.  EnvironmentalEducationCurriculumSpecialist
(National)
The consultant should havethefollowingqualifications,skillsandexperience:
·      Post-graduatedegree(preferablyPh.D.–
S3,minimum Masters degree–S2)inEducationor arelatedfieldofspecialization;
·      At  least  10  years  of  relevant international  experience  related  to  development  of the curriculumforenvironmentaleducation;
·      Experience  in  monitoring  and  evaluation  of  public  programs  related  to  environmental education;
·      Knowledgeofsustainabilityissuesandexperienceintheimplementationofprogramsto applyeducationforsustainabledevelopmentisdesirable;
·      ConversationalfluencyinBahasaIndonesiadesirable;and
·      Excellent
report writing skills

4. TheEnvironmentalEducationTrainingSpecialist
(National)
The consultant should have
thefollowingqualifications,skillsandexperience:
·      Post-graduatedegree(preferablyPh.D.– S3,minimumMastersdegree–S2)inEducation
and/orenvironmentalaffairsorarelatedfieldofspecialization;
·      Atleast10yearsofworkexperiencerelatedtoteachertrainingprogramsinIndonesia;
·      Experienceinmonitoringandevaluationofpublicprogramsrelatedtoeducationandthe environment;
·      Knowledge of sustainability issues and experience in the implementation of programs to apply education for sustainable development in desireable;and
·      Excellent report writing skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
 
5. Provincial Environmental  Education Research Specialists (national, 4 positions) The consultants
should havethefollowingqualifications,skillsand experience:
·   Post-graduate   degree   (minimum   Masters   degree   –   S2)   in   Education   and/   or environmentalaffairsora relatedfieldofspecialization;
·   Atleast5yearsofrelevantexperienceofresearchrelatedtoeducationprogramsin
·   Indonesia:
·   Experienceinmonitoringandevaluationofpublicprogramsrelatedtoeducationand theenvironment;
·   Knowledgeandexperienceintheevaluationofprogramsatthelocallevel;and
·   ExcellentreportwritingskillsinBahasaIndonesiaandEnglish.

6. Data Analyst (National)
  The consultant should have the following qualifications and experience:
·     Mastersdegreeinstatisticsorarelatedfield;
·      At least  five  years  experiencerelated  to  analysis  of  Governmentof  Indonesia  data  on Education,theenvironmentandsocialindicators
·     Excellent  skills  in  the  analysis  and  presentation  of  statistics,  including  mapping  of geographicallyreferencedinformation.
