Position: Programme Assistant (VAM - Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping)

Position: Programme Assistant (VAM - Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping)
Contract Type: Special Service Agreement/Service Contract
Duration: 3 months with possible extension
Duty Station: Jakarta, Indonesia
Conduct quantitative data analysis for surveys and monitoring by
WFP including food security monitoring system and assessment;
Regularly update and archive secondary data on demography, poverty, food security and nutrition in the country;
Take the lead in preparing practical and simple analysis framework and guidelines which will be used for building capacity of food security analysis for government counterparts at provincial level;
Assist the supervisor and team in planning and conducting Training of Trainers (ToT) on food security field data collection with other cooperate partners including counterpart government and non-government agencies and other international organizations;
In cooperation with relevant team members, provide technical supports, particularly to Terms of reference preparation, field work guidance and management, and budget preparation in related surveys and monitoring conducted by WFP;
Assist the supervisor and other relevant staffs in the VAM Unit in arranging meetings, workshops and other capacity development related activities, particularly in financial and administrative arrangements;
Provide secretarial support to the Unit when required. It involves drafting correspondence, notes for record, and translation of Bahasa Indonesia-English and English-Bahasa Indonesia;
Actively participate to improve coordination and collaboration between WFP and other partners particularly national and local technical institutions such as Food Security Office, Statistics Office, Universities and NGOs;
Assist supervisor and other relevant staffs in the VAM Unit in building, maintaining and updating knowledge management and M&E systems;
and Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by supervisor(s).
Qualifications and Experiences:
Education: Minimum secondary school education with proven relevant work experience, University degree preferable in one or more of the following disciplines: economics, agriculture, international affairs, geography, nutrition, social sciences, development studies or a field relevant to international development assistance.
Experience: At least four years of progressively responsible support or secretarial work experience including at least two years job related experience in socioeconomic analysis with the use of statistical skills such as sampling, quantitative analysis, and hypothesis testing.
Knowledge: Training and/or experience utilizing computer software including statistical analysis and spreadsheet.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written English and Bahasa Indonesia.
