Greenpeace is Hiring : Regional Oceans Research Coordinator

action against environmental abuse and destruction.

Currently we are seeking a *Regional Oceans Research Coordinator*.
Reporting to Regional Oceans Campaign Manager, the *Regional Oceans
Research Coordinator* will responsible to :
• Identify information gaps and research needs for the purpose of campaign
development.
• Research planning and project management – responsible for delivery of
research needs and information needed to achieve campaign objectives,
including development of research Terms of Reference, hiring and management
of research contractors, oversight of deliverables including quality
control.
• Lead development of campaign documents (internal and external) including
project management, provision of information, direction and fact-checking,
distillation of information based on campaign objectives and report writing.
• Identify links, areas of overlap and synergies between oceans campaign
projects and research throughout the region.
• Develop and manage a database of campaign-relevant information, including
data, external reports, Greenpeace publications, online resources and a
regional pool of freelancers, academics, research institutes and students
who we can hire or collaborate with on oceans research projects.
• Serve as liaison between GPI Research Coordinator (Asia Oceans) and GPSEA
Oceans Campaigners, including on delivery of research projects that are
required to achieve our global campaign priorities and objectives.
*Qualification :*
• Minimum bachelor degree and 3years of similar experience with a public
interest organization
• Proven research capabilities including detailed issues/market research
and the ability to produce in-depth reports as well as briefs for multiple
internal and external audiences
• Highly developed capacity to assume responsibility to coordinate multiple
concurrent variable research tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Proven capacity to manage research contractors.
• Encourage and develop a supportive, productive team dynamic
• Highly developed ability to solve problems using multiple analytical
techniques within a focused result orientation
• Highly developed proficiency in database, spreadsheets, statistical
analysis and reporting/powerpoint
• Ability to write research reports and present complicated information
into formats that are easy to comprehend for a general audience
• Well understanding of campaign strategies and effective
methodologies/techniques to meet campaign/project objectives through
information acquisition
• Understanding and exposure to the roles of science, politics, economics,
industry, media and social change in campaigning
• Broad experience of cross-cultural working environment
• Demonstrable commitment to environment/peace issues
• Fluency in written and spoken English required, in any 3 SEA countries
• Proven budget management skills
• Proven skills in public communication/campaigning via mass networking
tools
• Commitment to the ideals of Greenpeace.
Desirable:
• Scientific knowledge of the campaign issue area
• Has an existing network in the relevant campaign research area.
• Knowledge of relevant international/political updates in relation to the
campaign issue
• A wide range knowledge, understanding and experience on non -violent
campaign tactics
