air, cleaner water and a healthier environment through changing industry

oceans, create a toxics-free future and create a shift to sustainable

Greenpeace has three offices in Southeast Asia—in Thailand, Indonesia and
the Philippines and each office is composed of five departments: Campaigns,
Fundraising, Communications, Mass Mobilization and Organizational
Support.  Currently,
Greenpeace has more than a 140 staff across the region, excluding the
direct dialogue fundraisers.

*JOB SUMMARY:*

The Indonesia Database Administrator and Analyst position is a post that
will support the fast growing Indonesian office with its data needs. The
post is managed by the Regional Database Administrator and Analyst but must
able to operate on its own initiative in order to support the Indonesia
fundraising team and their many needs.

*Main Responsibilities:*

*Data processing:*

To facilitate the effective import/export of data between fundraising
database and external systems/agencies, including:

o   Assist the Direct Dialogue team with all aspects of the weekly/monthly
report, as and when required, to accurately calculate bonus/incentive for
all direct dialogue staff, to manage manpower including all kind of absent,
leave and late

o   To create and manage any database imports and exports required for the
successful management, recording and reporting of fundraising campaigns

o   To manage all data processes related to working with our external
telemarketing agency

o   Assist the Supporter Care team with all aspects of the monthly debit,
as and when required, to deliver debit files on time, to be able to conduct
monthly debit, to fix any problems that may arise including reversing
incorrect debits and resolving problems with online processing applications

o   Provide training and helpdesk to Direct Dialogue and Supporter Care
team to improve the data processing and to document such procedures as
requested

*Information providing:*

To provide information, reporting and analysis derived from the database to
Fundraising Director, Deputy Fundraising Director, Direct Dialogue team,
Supporter Care team and other related staff in order to enable them to
perform their various duties in a timely and efficient manner. This
includes:

o   Liaison with fundraising staffs to determine data selection
requirements for appeals and other related projects such as newsletters,
tax receipts and mailings

o   Building, testing and implementing standard reporting and analysis
tools which users can run on daily/weekly/monthly/yearly basis or at their
discretion

o   Building, testing and running ad-hoc reporting and analysis tools to
provide data and reports as requested

o   Developing such tools by using MS Access, MS Excel or other application
to manipulate data/reports where tools in fundraising database are
insufficient

o   Writing programming in SQL and other languages in order to produce
required reports and analysis



*Database maintaining:*

To ensure integrity of all data in fundraising database, including:

o   Controlling codes and parameters of the database

o   Building, testing and running ad-hoc tools to maintain integrity of all
data

o   Archiving of redundant data

o   Ensure database is backup appropriately

o   Trouble shooting and checking security flaws to maintain integrity of
all data

*Database analysis:*

To analyse and provide feedback to Fundraising team and other stakeholders
on the success of fundraising and mass mobilization campaigns, including
our welcome and retention programmes for supporters.  Conduct regular
analysis of data to ensure effective usage of data, hence increasing ROI on
marketing spend.



*Database integration:*

To ensure effective integration between fundraising database and other
Greenpeace databases, including:

o   Greenpeace websites

o   Finance systems

o   Mass-mailing systems

*Planning:*

To participate in the planning processes as part of the Fundraising team,
including:

o   Providing any information, which will help key stakeholders in their
planning and budgeting processes

o   Developing and managing the database strategies and plans required to
facilitate stakeholders and maintaining effective workflow of the
fundraising team



*Successful Transition to New Database:*

To provide internal project management for the transition to a new database
and provide full assistance to the team doing the migration

*General duties:*

From time to time in order to meet organizational and fundraising
priorities you will be required to perform other duties as directed by the
Line manager.

*Essential qualities and skills:*

·         Commitment to the ideals of Greenpeace.

·         Good written and oral communication skills (in English and Bahasa)

·         At least 2 year experiences in database management and analysis
of high volume and complex data sets

·         Educated to Bachelor/Master Degree level in Computer Engineer,
Computer Science, Information Technology or others related.

·         High Level of experience of a database query package.

·         High level of skills Word or equivalent Open Office software

·         High level of skills with Ms Excel or Open Office spreadsheets

·         High level of skills with Ms Access (queries, macros, VBA)

·         The ability to use SQL to query SQL databases directly

·         A desire to work with and understand the various needs of a
fundraising team who need data insights in order to operate effectively

*Desirable qualities and skills:*

·         Understanding of supporter/loyalty programs.

·         Experience in an NGO or not for profit sector.

·         Experience with CRM’s.

·         Experience in data mining / analysis programs.

·         Experience of Salesforce and the Force.com platform

*WORKING HOURS*

Normal hours of work for full time Employee will be forty (40) per week or
(5) days in a week, at 8 hours per day excluding an hour lunch break. This
will be from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am to 6: 30
pm.Ordinary hours of work may be varied as agreed between staff and
the line
managers.



*LEAVE*

A permanent employee will be entitled to the following leaves:

Annual Leave: 20 days

Parental Leave:  As per labor laws and Greenpeace policy

Sabbatical leave: 2 months paid leave after 5 years of continuous service

                Compassionate leave: maximum of 5 days for the death of
significant others

In determining salary offer for this position, Greenpeace applies its
Salary Grading Process, taking into consideration the job description and
applicant’s previous experience, and the organization’s salary grade.
