CARE Indonesia in Makassar-South Sulawesi (Takalar) : Constuction Specialist

CARE International Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried out large scale operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency
operations, transitional activities centered on agriculture and
nutrition and a range of development initiatives in such areas as water
and sanitation, health and micro-credit.

CARE Indonesia  in Makassar-South Sulawesi (Takalar)  is currently recruiting the following position for its project:

JOB TITLE : CONSTRUCTION SPECIALIST
DEPARTMENT/PROJECT : PROGRAM/WISE
REPORTS TO : PROJECT MANAGER
  

JOB SUMMARY

WISE project will be implemented in 3 districts of 3 different provinces of South Sulawesi, TTS and Jayapura. The Construction Specialist will lead the water and sanitation facilities construction system including preparing the standard design for low cost water and sanitation structure to be constructed in schools. S/he will conduct feasibility study prior to WASH construction in schools and prepare the design and budget plan for the facilities. S/he will also responsible to , increase the capacity of the partners especially on technical knowledge, operation and maintenance and development of facilities.



RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

* Prepare sets of WASH facilities (water supply, sanitation and hand washing) design that are low cost, child friendly and gender sensitive and can be adopted to be constructed in different setting of areas in Takalar, Jayapura and TTS.
* Support in technical assessments for the facilities to be constructed.
* Assist in planning and design of the construction activities.
* Ensure that design and Budget Plan of the facilities are well prepared.
* Conduct training to related sectors in design and construction of the facilities.
* assist in monitoring the construction work.
* Ensure that materials purchased and the construction works are according to the design and Budget plan.
* Prepare WASH technical training modules to be used by the Village facilitators and partners in assisting the construction work.
* Ensure that O&M training for the communities are conducted.
* Provides information to PM for all required reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Professional qualification in civil engineering, construction or architecture.
* Proven experience in low cost construction of WASH Facilities.
* Working knowledge of English.
* Good attention in details.
