I.                    Background
UN Women, established by GA
Resolution 64/289, became operational on 01 January 2011, and has its vision of
a world where women and men have equal opportunities and capacities, where
women are empowered and where principles of gender equality are firmly embedded
in all efforts to advance development, peace and security. The fundamental
objective of UN Women is to enhance national capacity and ownership to enable
national partners to formulate gender responsive laws and policies and to scale
up successful strategies to deliver on national commitments to gender equality.
The UN Women focus will be in five thematic priorities: (1) expanding women's
voices, leadership and participation; (2) ending violence against women; (3)
strengthening the implementation of the women, peace and security agenda; (4)
enhancing women's economic empowerment; (5) making gender equality priorities
central to national, local and sectoral planning and budgeting at all levels.
The work of UN Women in
Indonesia is informed by the Strategic Plan of UN Women 2011-2013 and the
Country Strategy 2011-2015. The Indonesia Country
Strategy centers around expanding support to the Government of Indonesia with
strengthened technical support towards: a) enhancing institutional capacity to
take forward the agenda of gender equality and women’s empowerment; and b)
strengthening gender responsive legal frameworks and access to justice for
women.  Thematically, the Indonesia
Country Strategy would focus on women’s economic rights and security, expansion
of political and democratic spaces for women, women, peace and security,
elimination of violence against women, and gender and HIV/AIDS.
To
support its work in Indonesia, UN Women Indonesia is seeking the service of a
National Consultant to provide a timely and quality services administration to
ensure continuity of work while a post is under recruitment process.
II.                  Scope of Work and
Specific Tasks
The Consultant provides programme support services ensuring
high quality, accuracy and consistency of workduring the assignment.More specifically, the Consultant will perform the following tasks:
1.       Supports implementation of Country Workplan focusing on achievement of the following
results:
* Assist in the preparation of project/programme budgets, preparation of contracts and other administrative documents for implementation of programme activities.
* Maintain an effective office filing system, both hard and soft versions; maintain an effective tracking system for contracts.
* Assisting in making travel arrangements for programme staff
2.       Provideeffective support toimplementation
of programme/project activities.  In specific:
·         Assist programme and administrative matters related
to the organization of meetings, workshops and conferences including
contracting vendors and organizing logistics.  
3.       Supportingknowledge building and knowledge sharing focusing on achievement of the following results:
* Support development and dissemination of knowledge products and other communications materials, including coordination of design/layout and printing.
* Responsible for other tasks as assigned by the Officer-in-Charge
III.                Expected Deliverables

Deliverables Approximate number of months/ days
I.         Support implementation of Country Workplan 
a.       Provision of supporting documents including letter of correspondances with development partners; initial budget;  and request for advance. 5 days
a.       Administration of filing system including updating current files related with administration and finance; checking appropriate documentation/reports relevant to contract’s agreement with partners. 7days
b.      Travel arrangement’s relevant documents i.e Travel Authorization are prepared and well documented. 7days
II.       Provideeffective support toimplementation of programme/project activities.  
a.       Provision of administration and logistical support to meetings, workshops and conferences including contracting vendors, preparing and documenting attendance lists, drafting invitations. 7days
b.      Prepare minutes of meetings; and provide simple translations as relevant. 5 days
III.     Supportknowledge building and knowledge sharing 
a.       Inputs soughts for development of knowledge products and other communication materials are coordinated and properly communicated with vendors. 5 days
Total 36days

IV.                Duration of Assignment and
Duty Station
The
assignment is for the duration of 36 working days in the period from 8 May to 30June2013.
The consultant will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
V.                  Contract
Supervision
UN
Women has overall management of the work of the national consultant. The
national consultant will be in direct contact with the UN Women Officer-in-Charge,and programme teammembers. She/he will work under the supervision of
the UN Women Officer-in-Charge of UN Women
Indonesia.

VI.                Degree of
Expertise and Qualifications
§  Secondary Education in Business or
Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences and Social Sciences or
relevant field.
§  Minimum 3years
of relevant programme or administration experience is required at the national and or international
level.
§  Experience in the usage of computers
and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc)
§  Experience and knowledge of the UN
systemis preferable
§  Ability to manage time in
multi-tasking and conducting parallel activities, to meet deadlines.
§  Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
