Vacancy in Arbeiter Samariter Bund : Project Officer - Mentawai Based

Established in 1888 Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) is one of Germany’s
longest established and largest social welfare organisations. ASB entered
Indonesia following the May 2006 earthquake and has established projects in
emergency relief; reconstruction and training; information and outreach;
disaster preparedness and livelihoods sectors.
ASB is a key player in disaster
risk reduction education and a regional leader in providing innovative DRR
services and solutions to people with disabilities.
ASB is currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and
committed individuals for the following position:

Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction- Project Officer,
Mentawai, Indonesia

Location:Tua Pejat, North Sipora Office and in-field Siberut, Mentawai
Duration: 9 months (including probation
period)

Summary of job profile:
This
position is primarily to assist in preparing and delivering meetings (with
stakeholders) and trainings delivered under ASB project IDN1303. The Project
Officer reports to the team leader and is expected to coordinate closely with
other project members and particularly field facilitators. The primary
objective of the position is to assist in ensuring that all trainings are
delivered to ASB and partner expectations as agreed under MFA agreement.
 Key requirements:
1.    Good
working ability in Padang & Mentawai
language ability required.
2.    Experience
working with local government & community.
3.    Excellent
DRR & capacity building skills.
4.    Understanding
of inclusion.
5.    Experience
of working in remote areas preferred.
6.    Excellent
reporting skills.
7.    Computer
literate (minimum MS Office)
8.    A
creative and practical approach to problem solving a necessity.
