Advisor
A. Responsibilities
§ Supporting the coordination and executing advisory services on Gender and climate change in regard to sustainable development, adaptation and mitigation
§ Supporting the identification of relevant gender structures in relation to climate change and mitigation/adaptation policies and measures (gender analysis) and elaborating the methods and strategy for the integration of gender sensitive policy and project planning and implementation (gender mainstreaming) in all working areas and in collaboration with their counterparts
§ Raising awareness and building capacity and expertise within the team and the counterparts on the inter-linkages between gender and climate change with a view to policy advice, project planning, and implementation
§ Assisting the working areas and their counterparts as well as partners on local level in implementing gender mainstreaming measures
§ Supporting the establishment and work of a gender mainstreaming working group within PAKLIM
§ Integrating results and experience into PAKLIM's teamwork and the work of all relevant groups

Special responsibilities:
§ Planning and performing gender analyses in the field (training national staff to perform interviews etc.)
§ Reporting progress on gender mainstreaming to headquarters

B. Tasks

1. Professional advisory services
§ Support integration of gender mainstreaming into project planning for all working areas by developing concepts and strategies, further support implementation
§ Actualize and coordinate the planning continuously together with the working areas and their counterparts if requested
§ Facilitate the process of investigation, assessment, study and analysis in the area of gender mainstreaming and climate change that is needed by the project, the local and national government, and non-governmental institutions
§ Contributing to the monitoring activities and ensuring timely reporting to the principal advisor and the team leaders
§ Evaluate results of activities and give input/feed-back for better implementation.
§ Being responsible for the preparation, execution and documentation of training, workshops, forums, meetings, and other project activities in regard to gender mainstreaming
§ Go on repeated and extensive field visits to the regions in accordance with the requirements of the project

2. Networking and cooperation
§ Develop and maintain communication with all relevant stakeholders on national level and in the selected regions
§ Develop network and build cooperation with relevant development partners or institutions

3. Knowledge management
§ Support the coordination to the program's knowledge management activities,
§ Ensure that lessons learned are documented
§ Monitoring and regular reporting of the activities within the area of "gender mainstreaming and climate change"

4. Coordination tasks
§ Responsible for the timely compilation, documentation, verification and reporting of project related activities including project administration.
§ Responsible for monitoring and evaluation of gender mainstreaming activities based on the results chains in cooperation with the M&E team
§ Support to all team members of all working areas when necessary and appropriate.
§ Supporting coordination of project gender mainstreaming activities in the regions

C. Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications

§ masters/MA in social sciences/international relations or similar with a particular focus on gender studies and climate change policy

Professional experience

§ 5 - 10 years' professional experience, with at least 3-5 years' professional experience in a comparable position

Other knowledge, additional competences
§ very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Knowledge Tree)

§ fluent written and oral knowledge of English
§ willingness to up skill as required by the tasks to be performed -corresponding measures are agreed with management
§ knowledge of/experience with methods of gender analysis
