Vacancy in Arbeiter Samariter Bund : Project Officer - Yogyakarta Based

Established in 1888 Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) is one of Germany’s
longest established and largest social welfare organisations. ASB entered
Indonesia following the May 2006 earthquake and has established projects in
emergency relief; reconstruction and training; information and outreach;
disaster preparedness and livelihoods sectors. ASB is a key player in disaster
risk reduction education and a regional leader in providing innovative DRR
services and solutions to people with disabilities.
ASB is currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and
committed individuals for the following position:


PROJECT OFFICER

Location:Yogyakarta, Indonesia (with travel to Central Java, West Java and the Mentawai
Islands).
Duration: 12 months initial contract
(including 3 month probation period)

Summary of job profile:
This
position primarily relates to disability-inclusive DRR. The position is to
assist in coordination of field activities with key project stakeholders, and
to ensure inclusive community mobilisation and participation in community level
activities. The position is also expected to support capacity building, and training facilitation. The Project Officer reports to the Team Leader and is expected to coordinate closely
with other project members. The position includes both field and office work.

Desireable qualifications:
1.    Minimum
3 years experience of working in community development.
2.    Experience in engagement with, and ensuring participation of,
community and community-based organisations.
3.    Experience
in coordination with government at community and district/province level.
4.    Experience
in organising workshops, meetings or trainings at community, sub-national
and/or national level.
5.    Ability and willingness to travel to project locations
6.    Knowledge
on DRR an advantage.
7.    An
awareness of disability and understanding of the principles of inclusion
required.
8.    Excellent
reporting skills.
9.    Excellent
communication skills.
10.  Bahasa Indonesia and
English language skills.
11.  Enthusiasm, critical
thinking and a creative approach to problem solving highly valued.
