Chemonics International, a global international development consulting firm (www.chemonics.com) seeks qualified Indonesian specialists for the USAID Higher Education Leadership and Management (HELM) project in Indonesia. HELM aims to improve the academic performance of Indonesia’s higher education sector through analytical support for strategic planning, policy analysis, and capacity development approaches for effective implementation of key reforms throughout Indonesia’s higher education sector. COMPONENT D AND E ASSISTANT
Post-graduate Program Strengthening Program – (Component D) is designed to strengthen or create post-graduate-level programs in Higher Education Leadership and Management. DIKTI has requested the expansion of masters programs and/or development of doctoral level/S3 programs at three universities.
Community Colleges Program – (Component E) The Government of Indonesia seeks to expand vocational education and training opportunities and to expand the gross enrollment in higher education. In pursuit of these aims, a recent policy initiative intends to establish a community college in each district. HELM will select four Community Colleges as institutional partners. These partners will participate in the HELM capacity building programs and HELM will provide additional support specifically addressing the needs of the community colleges.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Component D specialist and the Program Coordinator (PC). This is not a supervisory position, but requires extensive coordination with the technical team members as well as coordination and communication between sub-offices.
As teamwork is crucial to the success of the project, the Component D&E Assistant will coordinate with other technical, cross-cutting, managerial and administrative HELM staff, and may be asked to complete other project related tasks per direction from the PC and the Chief of Party (COP).
Eligibility Requirements for this Position
1. The successful candidate will have excellent writing, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and cross-cultural skills; demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize a variety of tasks within deadlines.
2. Masters degree in education related field required.
3. Minimum 5 years of working experience in education research or related field is required. USAID or other international donor experience preferred.
4. Proficiency with computer programs (word, excel, outlook), data analysis/problem solving capabilities, well as writing skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia required.
5. Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work well on teams with strong analytical/problem solving capabilities.
6. Must be interested in working with a multi-cultural, international team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
